Straightline performance i dont rekon there is much in it. What do you fellaz think?
I think in both cars it would come down to the driver personaly, not the machine and decent driver will be able to see the differences of both at the limit.

Ok Ant, two competant drivers on a drag strip.

Nope, the M6 is well known to be a little faster in a straight line and a little more agile on the track mate, but by how much depends on the driver... is what I was getting too...
But with you behind the wheel, who knows dude?

Thats all i was getting at, I know what a driver can do for a car around a track. Ive seen what a diesel can do round a track LOL = Many cars.

So the M6 is slightly faster accelerating, is this due to the weight difference..? which i believe is 100kg or just under.

Slighty less weight gives the slightly better straight line acceleration and also helps with the slighty better handling combind with the M6's slightly lower centre of gravity. Slighty.

carl the M6 is 120kg lighter in stock form than the M5.

Its got a shorter wheelbase that helps with handling.

You must have seen the m5board,com vids, the M6 is 6-7 car lenghts faster than the M5 to 155mph.

Do it and you'll come back with nothing but praise. Outright power won't go up a huge amount but the throttle response and drivability is much better from a good remap.

ive just had k and n typhoons put on and im still enjoying that before i decide to alter the performance again.

I have found the figures given for the engine now as it is on the Superchips website. PDF is below, you can see from the torque curve why it is so much more driveable
