If you log correction you may just get a flat line but you won't know how timing really looks. |

Just log all cylinders timings and forget about correction.

thanks for information.after using google search and reading here and there blogs...i think&hope Cobb AP is not causing this hpfp issue no more than other
tuning remaps. car has 114 000km and dont know if hpfp has ever been replaced so if its OEM...well no wonder if its life ends. only hope that the 13517616170 ,newest pump is stronger, havent found anything bad related to that one still, if they replace the hpfp pump...i will be asking myself if i dare to use stage2+ soon after replacement :/ Last edited by paapaa; 03-26-2012 at 07:32 AM.. |

Cobb or anyone in the know, can you list a full set of datalog parameters you generally require to have when viewing and troubleshooting logs? I'd generally just log everything but the AP can't capture everything, and unnecessary channels decrease the sample rate.

Here are the parameters you will want to log if you want someone to take a look at your logs to see how things are running.
RPM Boost Mean Abs Boost Req Abs MAF Req (WGDC) MAF Load Req Load Act Lambda (Bank 1) Lambda (Bank 2) Timing Corr 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Timing Cylinder 1 WGDC After PID Fuel Mode TPS Actual Pedal Position (I like to use this to see when driver requested Full TPS) |

^ I'd probably log timing on all 6cyls, and correction on just 1 if you can't get all 6 of each.

Not sure why everyone is so against logging correction? I find it easier to quickly locate multi-cylinder timing pulls during WOT in long log files by scanning cylinder correction columns (part-throttle cruising corrections should obviously be ignored). I found that there is a bug in logging output, where cylinder correction does not match the proper cylinder timing number. Couple of cylinders are swapped, so maybe that's what confuses people?

Just log timings on all cylinders and forget about correction. You will see anyway if there is some. STFT are also good to have especially if you run injection water/meth.

Perhaps others will heed your advice, but I personally find that it takes less concentration to locate timing pulls using the correction columns, and the math for the amount of pull is already done fore me. Easier on the brain

^ I agree. I'm just listening to what people are saying when they review logs, and they're looking more closely at total timing rather than just correction.
Is there some concern that the advance isn't happening properly? |

hey guys, just tuned cobb onto my car, stage 1 aggresive. this map is safe for a stock car with 93 octane right? also, my car is at around 36k miles, and i dont think the spark plugs have been changed by the previous owner (i bought the car at 32k miles). however, i havent experienced misfires. i've only had the tune for less than a day now, should i be worried about misfires?

Tried out Virtual dyno for the first time. Anything I need to change settings wise? I clicked the SAE button, added driver wieght and put in the actual air temp in of 55f.
Not a single timing correction! And thats on cali 91 octane with 5 gals e85 to 1/2 tank of 91. Running cobb stage 2+ aggresive |

Definitely does, as the turbos aren't attenuating engine noise
it screams at higher rpms too (and doesn't go anywhere)
