transmission fluid leak.

Few weeks back when the car was idle for 2 weeks, i noticed a leak and the got it checked by indy shop. They confirmed it was transmission leak and need to change oil pan with filer, sealing sleeve, quoted $1100.

Its almost 4 weeks and now and i don't find the leak.

Should i get this wok done as soon as possible or is this intermittent issue?

thanks.

if you dont see any oil under trany pan i wouldn't panic, but just keep it eye on it , $1100 sounds pretty price you can get all the parts plus 6 liters of oil for around$300 ..

You should at least top up the fluid. Running a transmission with insufficient fluid = $$$$$$ down the road.

Maybe it is not leaking because there is no more fluid. . Cars don't fix themselves; ignore at your peril.

Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

This happened to me and like a fellow forum member you can do it yourself for approximately $300. I replace my transmission pan, gaskets, new sleeve and new oil. It took me 3 hours to do the job. Not too bad for a noob.
