Silly Question, ED and trade-in??

Does this work? Or are all ED sales done clean without any trade-in??

Thanks

I was inquiring my dealer about the same thing. She told me it can be done, but I'll have to turn the car to the dealer on the date I pay for the ED, which is at the latest a week before the trip. Which means you'd be without a car for about 1.5 months. This wouldn't work for me, so I said "no thanks"...

The other option is to keep the car as long as you need it and then turn it in. The disadvantage there is that you don't know in advance what you'll get for it.

Yep. This might not have been clear from my last post, but I said "no" only to the trade-in part, but I placed the ED order and planning to start selling my current car about 2 weeks before the re-delivery. The trade-in prices are usually not great anyway, but it is a convenience and you save on the tax. In the end I think I should be able to sell it at a higher price than the trade-in anyway. As long as it's about 1k over, I'm in the same money as if I did a trade in. If I sell it for higher than 1 k difference, that's even better

I sold my old bimmer to Car Max yesterday, without any problem. The whole ED process IS rather lengthy, but I've thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

The only tough financial part is owning two cars for the 6 - 8 weeks.
