I thought the whole circuit was on the jersey side?

There is skidpad training. Absolutely love SP so ... I might do it.

Anyone else get Track Day Insurance?
I read the article in Bavarian Motor Notes about how Rich totaled his car and he's been doing driving events for 38 years! You never know when it can happen I guess.
I just signed up for a 6 pack. Figured I didn't want to throw away all my modifications that I did (in excess of $35K!).
Cost me $260 per day with a small BMWCCA discount.

As long as Lockton covers the events you're going to, you're golden. Sadly, it excludes the one group I usually run with so I can't use them.

10 days per year (5 events), 38 years, $250/day = $95,000 in insurance.

Would prefer to wreck the car lol. Hopefully in some twisted way you'll wreck before then so at least you're closer to break even.

Summit Point this week with RTR was amazing. Weather was great in the 80s and the rain started as we packed up the cars around 4pm today. Car held up well with no heat soak. Probably will sign up for SP with RTR in October.

Thanks for the heads up, not sure if I can squeeze in another event in Sept/Oct but I did add them to my list of clubs on msreg...

All I read was "I'm not getting an intercooler". C'mon man!!!! Unacceptable.

Haha. Not the case the only thing holding me back is the arrival of this high flow fan at Helix. My car has to be redynoed in stock form before I can proceed.

I have a canopy for our events.

See you all Friday morning!

Let me know who's going to meet at the Wawa in NJ.
123 Paulsboro RoadSwedesboro, NJ 08085

As for the insurance: I'm sure after 38 years the car will depreciate and you won't be insuring it for the same amount year after year. My car is insured for full replacement vause of $55,000, so it's not a cheap car to replace.
I had my first close-call up at Lime Rock. A guy in a 911 gave me the point by and then lost me in his mirrors. When it came time for him to turn-in for the right hander, I was next to him and he almost broadsided me. Luckily I was able to put my tire up on the curbing and hit the brakes in time. He also stopped turning. It could have been very bad for both of us since I had quite a bit more speed than he did.

I appreciate the offer and will most definitely take you up on it. Between you and Peter, hopefully none of us will get sunburned.

Weather is supposed to look fantastic Fri-Sun... mid to high 80's, sunny, no rain.

Seriously, the canopy tent has been my most important track-side mod! Enjoy the event!

BTW, just came back from the TT4C event, that was....VERY different from your typical HPDE. It's actually a bike club with only a single "car" group, all 8 of us

You go out once every hour for 20 mins, we had put in 4 sessions by lunch time, 3 more after lunch. Skipped the 1st session as there was standing water past the bridge at Lightning from overnight raining.

No instruction/very free-style, extremely useful if you know what you're doing and want to try a few different lines/strategies with no traffic, this is my new go-to club for "testing"

I heard about that club as well, it's like 3 bike groups, 1 car group. You actually see some "famous" people show up, probably because it allows them to run their weekend toys w/o having to deal with strict rules/regulations. But for that reason, also heard it's got its share of hooligans, lol... not the advanced group you might've expected given the lax format.

LOL! Yes, Erick is really cool! I'm dropping my car off tomorrow night for inspection and hopefully brake duct cooling (if they came in).

Almost forgot, meet at 6am at Wawa. Should be plenty of time for us to get there. Tech is from 7-8am.

Just a reminder Steve and TSM330i - I got you guys rooms for Fri/Sat nights here. I have to drive there leaving my house around 7pm so you guys may have to hang out for a bit till I get there to check you in. I dunno if they'll let you in without me - sorry for that. Maybe you guys can grab dinner then i'll meet you at the hotel?
