Talking Door Open / Lock Question

Just picked up a 2011 328i xdrive sedan, 6spd. Love the car, 2 quick questions.

My previous ride was a 2008 MDX and I could personalize the keyfob to unlock all the doors with 1 press instead of just the drivers. Can this be done with the 328? I have navi / idrive. Or do I have to double click it?

When I lock the doors with the keyfob the car doesn't beep or honk, is this something I can personalize?

Thanks in advance!

On mine, the lights are the indicator of one's action re: locking the door. I'm sure someone has a coding solution, provided you have the hardware for a beep rather than a horn blast.

I personally think the horn blast that other cars make garish, but that's just me.

Good luck.

I was hoping for just a beep. I've never had a car that didn't make a sound but I can live with it, just thought the previous owner had turned it off.

The unlocking all doors can be adjusted on your iDRIVE setting.

The beep won't happen unless you have factory alarm.

Yes, go into your iDrive and in the 'Settings' menu - go into 'Locks' to customize that, and then go back into the 'Light(ing)' to change that.

Related to this, I found the above screen as well, however I was wondering if there was a way to have the car automatically unlock one/all doors on shutdown. Pulling the handle twice is annoying, but more importantly I figure it decreases the lifespan.

Just disable the auto lock feature altogether and you'll be set.
