Absolutely, yes.
A FBO car with 7-29 (like mine too) can run, with IC100, over 16psi without Ign drops. You've drops at 12psi.

If you want the *most consistent* gas out there get Exxon. Exxon is the only petroleum company that owns every single piece of the pie from the drill to the pump. Everyone else contracts out *some* of the process. Exxon owns most of the pipelines here in north america, and they rent time on them to BP, Shell, etc. That means Exxon pumps their gas from Texas to where-ever, and on the same pipeline they will then start pumping Shell's gas, then when Shell's run is over they pump BP's. There is obviously no way to avoid some mixing of the fuels. They also use these lines to pump Diesel, Kerosene, etc. So Exxon put's the other guy's gasoline next to the Diesel runs, and the Kerosene runs that way they get their gas as pure as possible and the other guys have to deal with the impurities.

Using Exxon gas will ensure you get the most consistent fuel out there, everyone else has far more issues to deal with.

That's why they call it 91 octane piss gas. You might find great value in a methanol if your really for a performance increase.

Oil companies sell crude and light product to each other all the time. They differentiate on additives and bs 'brand values'. Some have better quality control than others, but its a fungible commodity and traded as such.

While consulting to a big oil company, I helped design and build a system to manage this trading, so I know this as a fact. I have seen trades to/from Exxon.

Lastly, post Exxon Valdez, I would rather run out of gas than buy it from businesses that don't take responsibility for their screwups.

Mike, run your tank down, and try 10 dollars of the different brands of gas in your area and see if this persists, so let autotune show you and us who has the best gas for your area.

It might also be an idea for others to show there results from different parts of the country to try to see which company has the best gas, hopefully we could gather a large enough sampling to be able to get an accurate gauge of fuel quality.

FYI, i am running the 6-14 maps @ 15psi on 91 oct*shell)with a perfect timing curve. I have basically the same mods as you except dp's.

You might have some shitty gas in the tank. You should be able to run atleast 15psi. I am going to try and run 15.5psi, at 16psi my logs start to go to shit.

I'm running 18 psi with 93 oct + meth on a FBO car.
I can tell you that meth is magic for the timing...

This is a log through 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear, take a look at the perfect timing curve.

remember that autotuning can only move boost +/- 2 psi. if you set UT10 it will only boost max 12 even if you set max boost 25.
Put Initial boost 35% IC100 Max boost 15 psi Aggression 1.

But do you think that I will be able to see the same performance as you (18psi) with meth even tho I can only do 11 psi without it?

I'd guess you could do about 14 to 15 psi without meth and FBO right?

So maybe meth will only get me to about 14 to 15 psi?

Or is meth that good that it doesn't matter?

Thanks
If you're FBO you should be able to run 17-18 psi without any problems.
If not, you're probably having some problems with your car...

It has 37,000 miles, brand new HPFP.

Maybe injectors? Would boost leak / exhaust leak cause this?

I dont have any other ideas of what makes the car knock besides too much boost, too much advance, high IAT's, or shitty gas. (but am I the only one with this bad gas? I dont buy it)

And btw Enrita,

UT10 = 11psi, so it has the authority to move it up to 13psi if it could

Mike, is the car throwing any codes, try giving Robert or Shiv a call or email and tell them about your post here, if they don't know about it already, and lets see what they have to say for a fix or what the problem is.

You should still try different gas stations to see if the problem persists, and then finally for an experiment you could try some race gas to see how high auto tune will let you go, but in the end race gas is not the answer, because, high octane only lets you get away with more internal discrepancy's with out really fixing the problem.

UT10 = 10 psi
UT20 = 12 psi
UT100 = 20 psi
stock the maps are UT35 IC100 (13.5 psi start)

-start boost at 11psi (input value of 10)

This is start boost 10 psi and NOT 11.
How many pulls did you do before logging?
Just keep the stock settings which are ut35 ic 100 aggr. 1.
Run 5-10 3-4 pulls and log again.

Decided to load the new 7-29 maps with autotuning enabled again and take some logs while it was autotuning.

Just looking for comments and to see if my cars performance is where it should be. Let me know wat you guys think!

User Adjustables:
-start boost at 11psi (input value of 10)
-Ignition correction at 100
-Aggression Target set at 2

Mods:
-EAS DCI
-ER Comp FMIC w/ charge pipe (stock DV's)
-AR catless DP's
-AE catless exhaust

Outside Temp:
-Ranging from 80 to 84 *F (from the car's temp gauge)

Logs:
-3rd gear pulls starting at 3k rpm and ending at 6.5k rpm
-cooldown cruise between each pull, letting the IATs return to 35 *C (couldnt get them to go lower than that)

In the end, my settings ended up at 12psi at about 45 IC and this was only with a current aggression level of 1.7.

My only concern is that there are still dropouts in the logs even at these low settings. I've read on this forum that FBO cars should be able to be up at 13.5psi (if not higher) with 91 octane gas.

Is my gas really that bad? I'm using Shell 91. Because 84*F is not THAT hot.

Or maybe I'm wrong. Anyways, let me know your thoughts. Here are the logs:
