I'm considering buying this 2008 BMW 335i (details below) and want to know what a good price would be for it. The seller is asking $31,998.
The only thing I plan on doing to it is possibly reducing the darkness of the tint on the windows, other than that it looks pretty nice. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give! - CAGG

This was a certified pre-owned BMW bought from a BMW dealer in 2010 so you know it is in outstanding condition. I will be happy to share all of the paperwork to show that this car has been babied since day one. Full factory BMW warranty and service included up to 50,000 miles - covers oil changes, brake pads, rotors, fluids, etc. Pristine interior with dark wood trim.

If it's a 2008, and he bought it in 2010, how does he know it's been "babied" since "day one"? Ask him to show you the CPO Certification, and inquire about the VIN number at the dealership he purchased it from to make sure.

High performance tire normally only last ~20K miles so you're more than half way there.

Just for comparison, I recently bought a CPO 2008 335 Convertible w/Auto with all the options you've listed except Nav for $32K. I think if you get this down below 30K, that would be a good deal.

Good point about the "babied since day one". If the seller doesn't have the CPO Certification would be BMW have it on file if I gave them the VIN # and wouldit tranfer to me a s the new owner...thanks again for your help with this...just trying to make a wise investment - CAGG

CPO is transferrable, so the dealer should know. Also, my interpretation of "babied since day one" is obviously since he has been the owner--no need to look into that statement any further IMO.

If I was selling this car at 31.9k and someone gave me a 25k offer, my first response would be F U !! lol. I don't negotiate with low ballers, but the tactic does work if the guy is motivated to sell.

I wouldn't touch that thing if is wasn't a cpo car. If i had to guess a CPO car carries a premium of about 3-4k abouve a non cpo car, which you will come to appreciate after the 50k standard is up, anything there on out is a $50 deductible. I use mine all the time. And as far as the low ball comment goes. He is obviously smoking good herb if he thinks he can get 32k out of an almost 4 yr old car....I knew a guy out of west palm that got a left over BRAND NEW 09 335, sport, prem, black on black for 33k out the door...deals are out there. Also with the f30 coming out the left over 10's and 11's will be going for cheap cheap because dealers want to make room for new inventory so also keep that in mind.

I was recently in your shoes about two months ago. I was looking at essentially the same car but it was AT and no comfort access and heated seats. However the mileage on the car was only 20,900. It was at a dealer (non-BMW) and made a deal for $31k out the door. Warranty expires in Dec 2012. The previous post about purchasing a $33k brand new 09' is perhaps more difficult to find, but this price you are looking at is way too high. $25k you may not get, but you may get close to about $28k at the least.

Thanks hypnotiq...I was thinking around $28k as well...If I'm going to pay close to $32K, I'd probably try and pick up an 09 although a 09 manual seems tough to come by these days...what is your take on the CPO warranty...does yours have CPO? Thanks -CAGG
