E90 Pre-lci Need opinions on wheels & tires please!

Hey Guys,

I'm sure you can already tell, but I am new to the forums. This is actually my first "official post."

Back in June, I purchased an alpine white 08 335i. Since then, I've made some minor cosmetic changes...but I'm ready to start making some more serious upgrades now.

I figure the best place to start is wheels & tires. I'm all over the place with what I want. I've narrowed it down to either gun metal or black rims. I feel like the chrome is a little too much. Unfortunately, that's all I've narrowed it down too...

I've been attracted VMR's but I am open to anything really.

If anyone can share opinions, or pictures of wheel & tire upgrades they've made (especially on an alpine white e90) I would greatly appreciate it. I would like to go for a more aggressive look.

Thanks!

Just have to look at the galleries on their websites. adv.1, vossen, bbs are some of my favorite. Check them out.

Linea Corse 818

It is similar to VMR 710, but much better quality and more concave. Also the spokes on the front wheels don't come past the edge of the rim like the vmr's.

Thanks guys, These are all great! I'm really liking the the VMR 710's and Linea Corse 818's. Do the Linea's come in a gunmetal?

And I know everyone asks this question, but 18's or 19's?

I personally chose 18-inch wheels because of the crapola roads in my area. The style of the wheel also makes a difference in how they fill the wheel well.

I have a set of Style 269 Performance reps from Sonic Tuning in the photo below as my winter set. They have a polished finish with gunmetal around the rim:

On my summers, I am running OEM 219M wheels taken off of an M3, which are gunmetal all around with multiple spokes. Gunmetal would look good or LM reps with a polished lip and gunmetal spokes.

At any rate, I have seen too many AW with black wheels and they just don't seem to show off their lines (wheels) as nicely. G/L with your choice. You really can't go wrong with what you are thinking.

Thanks man! Nice e90.

I am definitely going with a gunmetal finish, still deciding what size and which wheel. I've narrowed it down to these...

Competition Pack Wheels CSL/ZCP
or
Avant Garde M359
or
Alufelgen CS7

Anyone know of any advantages/disadvantages to any of these wheels? Personal preferences?
