Color is a personal thing regardless of what the majority of e90 owners have. If it does it for you, get the SG. Don't worry about the fact that its such an exceedingly popular color. Its neither a safe nor daring color. Hope this helps... |

RGRAY, did I tell you that I decided on a 330i instead of an xi? It was a tough call, but I went with my gut instincts... Hopefully I'll be receiving her some time in April! |

Thanks for all the help!
I ordered the SG today. Once I saw it in the daylight it was beeeeautiful! Sad though I have to wait 6-8 wks for it to come in... Still much better than the Lexus I almost ordered! That was going to take 8-12 weeks (closer to 12) and was going to be to be 3k more! (Not to mention not nearly as awesome of a car...) Anyone who has ordered it: Does it take the full 8 weeks or can I expect my baby sooner?

Geeslice: Which dealer did you order from ... Passport (Suitland, MD) got mine into the dealership in about 6 weeks (from order to final PDI)... I learnt that your CA/dealership have some ways to speed up delivery (e.g. special relations with transport/logistics, volume=preferential internal treatment, labeling cars with customer's last name etc.)
Btw, could've have gotten it sooner but I cancelled PCD mid-voyage and the car had to be trucked back up here from SC. A fellow poster who dealt with Passport got his in 5 weeks total...

I ordered mine from BMW of Fairfax. I was going to go to Passport but they were offering me basically the same deal so I'd rather get it at Fairfax because it's around the corner from my work. (Hopefully their service will treat me nice since I got it there.)
I can only wish for 5-6 weeks. I'm selling my TT and if sells before my car comes in... Enterprise here I come! Though I suppose driving around a Kia Rio for a few weeks will make me appreciate the car that much more!!

To those of you on the fence on SG... SG is an awesome color...the many fine pics in this forum still does not do justice to SG in real life...it's a very dynamic color with lots of moods/character ...(well not as chameleon as arktis). It is a markedly classy and business-like color...
The only downside is that it is not a low-maintenance color...it does show dirt and is quite sensitive to swirl marks.

Here's a combo that I don't think has been posted before, SG/Terra/Poplar. Note that mats are temporary!

AudiGuy: Nice... I love poplar. Its one trim you have to see irl. Poplar (like Terra) is hard to portray in pics-hence the many differing comments-...looks different (nicer) in the flesh...Congrats!! Your CA didn't hook you up with OEM mats?? That's quite a cheap and low way to stick you with advertisements
