What you guys think of the msds intake, and video included with sound...
the msds intake for the 335, is it considered a good intake? and does anyone know from experience how are the performance gains? i havent seen on the forum with this intake here is a video and link to where you can get the intake, what you guys think?

Umm, yeah, those guys made a video in a parking garage where sound is amplified. LOL
As for the intake itself. Give it a try if you are interested. |

i ordered one already, should be here soon. i'll let you know.
FWIW, Down4it, also has this intake (stg 1 & 2) he did a breif write up a few days ago. search and its there. he has yet to dyno it though.

The problem with those open element cone air filters (even with heat shield) is unless they actually have a Cold Air intake tract that brings in the cold air from the front of the car directly too the open element, when really on the road, the hood is closed and all that HOT air that gets trapped under the hood will go directly into the intake. That doesn't show up on a dyno when done on a cold/warm engine car with the hood up and fan blowing cool air directly into it. I'd bet they will gain little to NO power if dynoed on a warm engine with the hood closed with the fan blowing on the front of the car like it would when on the real road. Just my .02 |

Look at the Gruppe M. It uses a k&N (not drop in) and has a wider tract, and bigger scoops at the front grill to grab more cold air. There is a group buy going on for a replica in the sponsors forum, the post was started by member bavdom.

Thats great and everything driver,but the air then goes to the hot hot turbos, which are much warmer than the air under the hood.
Might be more suited for a NA car... then the underhood temp would come into play. |

I'm not so sure any of the air intakes are worth it. I think you can get dyno gains with the hood up (I've seen a few HP with the lid off), but not sure it converts to real world performance.
The real issue is the long run to the turbos, but there is so little space down there it's hard to work. I poked around while working on the downpipes last night and didn't see any easy options. |
