E90 HID Fog light help

I bought this HID kit for my 2008 328i, bought 5000ks

http://www.ebay.com/itm/170856356264...S:1123&vxp=mtr

I installed one side and got flickering and when I would turn the fog lights on and off, they usually wouldnt come back on and I would get a error on the dash. Do you think this load resistor will do the trick?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-H11-H8-LE...b8c7ae&vxp=mtr

Thank you in advance!

The problem is that you put a cheap non Canbus hid unit in your car. You need to either get a CANBUS hid kit or do some coding. Both are easy fixes.

No and no. Coding does not fix the fog light problem. there are many users on here using non-canbus hids, they just use a resistor or error cancelors(which are resistors in plastic). some vendors here even sell non-canbus hids with error cancelers. the error canceler should solve all the issues.

yes OP all you need is a error canceler. cant say if that exact one will work but it should. As ive been through all fog light HID issues you can run into.

The person I purchased the kit from is sending me error cancelers for $10. The HIDs while they were working looked really good imo.

They would work with the car on, and if I didnt turn them off and on repeatedly they would just stay on fine. Once they would start to flicker really fast they would go out in a couple seconds. One time I turned them off and tried turning them back on and got nothing.

Sorry, but i have to disagree with you. Coding does fix the error. The error occurs because the vehicle fails the bulb check on start up. If you "code out" bulb checks, the vehicle won't fail because a bulb check wouldn't have occurred to begin with. I have tried just about every kit with and without error cancellers except the mtec kit and the kit that underground euros offers. My car is an 07 with a "picky" computer. Op on the other hand has an 08. I've yet to see a properly installed Canbus hid kit not work on an 08+ model.

You need a real high end canbus ballast it's the only way to fix the issue, we carry them. Error free no flickering, no shutting off on its own.

I told you ive been through it all.

I have had my car coded for the fog light error. did not solve the problems. no code but fog lights still shut off with flickering. coded Onebadmofo who coded the whole tristate, so its not like he did it wrong. once error cancelers were installed, my car work properly. I also have an early build 07. many people on the 60 dollar hid thread also agree that all you need is the canceler.

The coding it's self is pretty easy so I dbout your friend did it wrong. What kit and error cancellers are you currently running if you don't mind my asking?

So the Error HID canceller also solve the problem. But I searched on google gave me either 9-15v and 9-32v canceller. I dont get the different between them. WHich one should I choose?

Haven't tried your kit yet. Do you have something that "works" for 07's?

Ive had these for more than a year now and never had any errors nor flickering once!! www.alpinemss.com i think i have the 7k's. i have a 08 e90 335i. I also bought the "led" angels too. "Hid "angels do not work on the pre lci e90s from what i was told. Only on e92's and lci e90s.

Coding won't do it. Also I recall you need to have no error codes before you can drill into the list to code it. Best thing to do is get an error canceller during your purchase of the HID kit since Euros and newer models all need it to tell the ECU you are running HIDs in a halogen setting.

I just put HIDs in fogs few weeks ago after getting the car and no issues

I had the same problem with my e90 built 01/07. It was coded but I still had flickering because it was non Canbus. Just follow 335iredline's tutorial and it's a cheap fix for under $15.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=338009

I've had mine in for 2 weeks now with no probs.

You need to do the normal bulb check error coding and NETTODAT coding to up the voltage to the fogs.
