Audio Oddity

Guys.I use my Ipod in the car 95% of the time. When I start up the car the system can show various things. For eg.it can start on the last song. It can start playing the last song left on but I have to go back to current playback to get it back on track with the playlist. Sometimes I have to start all over again. Its not a biggy but I cannot figure it out, it seems to have a mind of its own. I have an Alpine upgrade in the car.

CDs are fine. I tend to only use the iPod though because all my music is on it. Its just a bit weird thats all. Sometimes it starts up where I left off, sometimes not. Sometimes it kicks off with external source, sometimes not. Sometimes the BMW logo thing comes up first. Not often. No issues with the sound, thats great.

i figured it was easier to cut a cd (copy of songs from iphone) and leave it in the car, it always starts from the last place. That way i can leave the phone in my pocket and use steering wheel controls.

I leave my iPod permanently connected in the console. Occasionally I update it on the laptop if the missus has been downloading new songs from itunes. Therefore all my music is in the car. I use the idrive to switch playlists, genres etc but have control of songs off the wheel. It all switches off when car goes off.

Yeh I understand what you're trying to explain. Happens to me too but I just find it annoying... nothing more than that.

I have experienced the same thing. I have the latest gen iPod nano and the previous version and I too leave the iPod connected.

I had this problem only on the new iPod nano (small square one). When I switched to the older version (the last with the round control wheel/pad) it doesn't happen.

For me it happens more often with my big ipod rather than my touch with less music on it.
