Painting the Front Bumper!

Does anyone know of a place to get a bumper painted in Orange County or SoCal area that does a good job without charging $37947392 to do it? Looking for an M3 replica bumper and gonna need a paint job. Unless anyone knows of a vendor who sells them already painted to match up!? Suggestions welcome!

You're better off taking it somewhere to paint it instead of ordering it painted for the perfect color match. For example, not every sparkling graphite is the same. A good shop brings out multiple card samples of sparkling graphite that vary and sees which matches the best to your car's paint. It shouldn't be more than 3 bills good luck!

Hey thanks a lot! That's some good advice and you're definitely right. Called a couple places and the cost is $300-$350. They also said $300 for the side skirts...at $150 per side. That doesn't seem right though. Seems a bit much for side skirts?

No problem $300 sounds fair actually.

Great advice, listen to the man.

$300 bucks should be more than fair.

That sounds about right if the bumper is already primed and ready for paint. You should not paint over paint, to do it correctly. If it is already painted I would add about $200.00 to strip it. my .02c

JGmods was the vendor that i had bought my m-tech and side skirts from. They also painted and installed them in the bay area. Id suggest buying from them and taking a trip down and having them install it for you. Then either ship your old parts back or stick the bumper in the back seat. Or if you have a friend with a trunk even better.

With my paint it was dead on. Its not that hard to buy the paint from bmw and get a near perfect match. I'm pretty sure thats what they did since the paint was dead on for my car. My paint is Monocoblau Metallic which is a dark color. I'm not sure if dark colors are easier or harder to match lol.

His prices are very fair and the fitments were dead on. Can't go wrong with www.jgmods.com

$300 to paint the entire bumper is a great deal. I've seen $500+ just to paint the bumper.

$600 to paint my back bumper after an idiot scratched it.

But mine was digitally matched and I had paint mixed for me. Really depends on what quality you want.

Quick question... for those of us who can't visit you guys (me!), how good is the paint match? I want to do m tech front and backs on my car, and I have Arctic Metallic.

We've painted that color for both local & out of state customers and never had an issue. The absolute best way to paint match is to blend all panels touching the newly painted product, but that can become a little less cost efficient for most. But we're confident in our ability to paint match BMW colors and do our very best to always do it as close to possible.

So it would maybe be better to buy bare hand have my local shop (screamin paintworks) paint and blend it in?

Also, the "Vader Approved 335i" shown on canibeat.com. Is that bumper available for my car? I like it a lot but I can't seem to find where it's sold or how much. Anyone know?

I can't remember where I read it, but is that specific bumper only for LCI models?

That's a M Tech / M Sport front bumper. There is one for the Pre LCI & LCI.

Hmm Yeah but the msport/m tech for my e90 is slightly different. The fog mesh area is more blocky than that and it's a slightly different design. I think that bumper from canibeat is for e92 only? I haven't found the same one for my e90 pre LCI.

Ah, misunderstood. Yeah that's the E92 M Tech. That won't fit the E90.

Any idea if there's a replica or something for that for the e90?
