All four tires low?!

Got a message that I had a low tire.. then I looked at the center cluster and it showed all four tires low!
So I go into IDrive, Vehicle Status and in doesn't show any color on my tires. Usually Green, unless it's low or flat (Yellow or Red)

So I go to check pressure, all good.

Now I try to reset the TPMS and get a message that-
"Resetting".. but nothing happens!

Anyone ever here this before? Going to the dealer on Tues (after I get back from Berlin!) but figured I'd drop a note on here.

Thanks
Motch

Nope.. not an air issue. As I said, I checked the pressure.

if you can use your left stalk to reset, hold down the reset button for 15 seconds (instead of the usual 1 or 5 second push). Happened to me when I changed tires a couple months back and this method worked to get things back to normal.

Put air in your tire... reset it. then DRIVE your car for about 2 miles and it will reset.

I reset mine after putting air in and the symbol did not go away. I had to turn my car off and then restart it and all the warnings reset. fwiw

How much air pressure (example 30psi, 40psi) was in the tires (front and rear) before and after driving? Did you use an accurate air pressure gauge?

you can also go to a discount tire type place and they have a hand held that checks to make sure your sensors are working properly.

Car is 4 months old, with less than 4400 miles on it. It's going no where but back to BMW.
Actually went their a few hours ago. They confirmed a problem and the car will go in on Monday. Soonest they can give me a loaner. Have military duty tomorrow and need my car~

One time I've been able to reset the TPMS. But the message came back. At least now I have 4 "Yellow" tires showing on the screen. Pressures are good.

Oh well..

So, it turns out that I did have a nail in the left rear tire.. but, get this-
BMW has a memo out that due to supply issues with the TPMS last year (July 2011), they substituted some electronics and now, whenever you have a low or flat tire, it shows up at ALL tires being low/flat.

Actually, not happy about that but at least I now know what to expect the next time it happens~

Hope this helps everyone else out.

Thanks for that info. Although I'm not understanding why the software can't be sorted out - or why we can't be provided with actual real time psi readings for each tire.

Same thing happened to me, got one tire reading low and then the next thing i know it says they are all low even after i filled them all up.

Took it into the dealer and they reset it for free and no problems since

Neither can I.. expect that the memo they gave me stated that they had to substitute parts. So maybe it's not a software issue.

My issue is this. I purchased a 2012 BMW that is suppose to have a TPMS that monitors individual tire pressures. In essence, it's not really doing that. Going to write BMW and see what they say.

Shitty thing is, if you get a low tire and know which one it is, you can adjust your driving and get some air in it. Now- if you get a low tire, you don't know which one it is.. and if you go to a station to put air in it- you have to hope that the air hose had a built in tire pressure gauge on it. Otherwise, you are totally screwed!

Kinda BS after spending 50+grand on a new car..

Just put a $1 pencil-style tire pressure gauge in your glove box. There are some things you should always have in the car, and a workable pressure gauge is one of them.
