Talking Stage 3 Performance Package DIY Guide

I'm super stoked to tell you guys that my 335D is alive and well, it had a freak oil pump failure that killed the turbos but it didn't ruin the engine.

I'm really surprised how easy it is to change the turbos on this car, it took me a while to figure out the fastest way to install these turbos but if I had to do it again I'm confident this could be done in just a few hours.

Stuff I learned recently:
  • If you are upgrading from stock to stage 3, you do not need to remove the motor mount from the car, you can take the DPF out of the top.
  • There is a very specific order that you can follow to remove the turbos and save a ton of time

Parts Used:
  • JR Stage 3 Hybrid Turbo Kit
  • JR Stage 3 Tune
  • P&L Full Exhaust
  • Stepped intercooler kit with upgraded intercooler hose
  • Oil Pan gasket
  • Oil Pump
  • 3mm Vacuum Hose
  • New MAP sensor

Looking forward to posting the rest of the pics and guide in the next few days

The transmission really is the weak link after the deletes. Seems very inconsistent from day to day.

Mine had been clunking and delays a lot since I bought it at 11k. Now at 66k, it's so bad. No deletes.

Have tranny adaptations been done in Rheingold? The transmission on these cars is a beast, it shouldn't be having any issues with power.

Also noteworthy...
If intake plugged, fuel filter plugged, bad maf, etc etc, tranny will be a disaster

Nothing changed in the tyranny post tune. I'm just referring to the general nuances of the transmission's software & adaptations. I have no concern over its capability to handle the power.

I currently don't have Rheingold. So the adaptations have not been reset.....guess I need to get the laptop out.
