Would installing coilovers void BMW 50k Warranty?
I'm interested in putting on coilovers for my new 335i. However, I tend to put on a lot of miles on my car being that this 335i would be my commute ride. Therefore, I am relying on the BMW 50k warranty (also purchased additional warranty 100k).
Would adding KW's void any type of warranty? Thanks.

Only to the areas affected by the mod. For example, if your HPFP goes south, no SA would ever blame that on the CO's. But some dealers get squirrelly around cars with any mods, I guess on the logic that you might be abusing your car. As with most things BMW, go and have a chat with your SA. See what they advise. If their pricing is reasonable, have them install the CO's, maybe with a special after-hours arrangement with one of the techs that the SA wants to toss a bone to.

Legally your waranty is protected because the addition of the coilovers invovles no direct engine mods, but as Mantis mentioned BMW be reluctant to cover your suspension.

well, technically they can void other components connected to the suspension.
Steering rack, bushing, control arms...you name it. Depends on your dealer.

I think everyone pretty much covered it. No doesnt void warranty - just parts directly related to part modified. And be aware of the 'jerk' dealerships -I've personlly dealt with quite a few.

One thing that was not mentioned is the SEMA Legislation that protects you. Make sure to read the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act
