Holy cow swirls are hard to remove from a JB Bimmer...

I went over the hole car in 3000 grit wet sand, followed up with yellow "Lake County" cutting pad and Zaino Z-PC, then orange "Lake Country" polishing pad with Z-5 polish, then just got finished buffing in the Zaino Z-CS (sealant) and i'm still seeing those dastardly (yeah, i went there.) swirls...

The bright side is, the car looks blacker than before... like... a DEEEEEP endless black... looks really nice.. if only the swirls weren't there, it'd look like a showroom floor finish.

Thinking about getting the purple cutting pad next... it's the coarsest one they have, but i can't image it would be any more effective than the 3000 grit i used...

Any tips from you detail guys?

Try using meguiars m105/205 combo. I found zaino just doesnt cut well. Can also try menzerna sip.

Menzerna is looks sick on a dark colored car. So much depth, it makes it seem like youre drowning just by looking at it.

Try the M105 on a surbuf pad, should be plenty to remove swirls.

surbuf with menz sip or higher, or m105 would be a good start

Purple pad isn't as effective on this machine so it won't do you much good.

Jet black is pretty soft so m105 or d300 should cut it fairly easily on either an orange or MF pad... Surbuf+m105 should make quick work out of it as well, but unless your paints real bad I don't see why you would need a surbuf on jet black.

It's a pad, good to use when you need something more aggressive than the usual foam lineup.

I have completely abandoned all use of my yellow LC pads due to what they leave behind and almost regardless of the product used. I can get much better results with better combos of products with orange, white and yes, even purple foamed wool.

I had a JB E92 about a year ago that looked phenominal with M105 on a white LC pad. Was swirled up quite a bit. Followed that with M205 on a black pad and then went one step further with Menz PO85 on a blue pad. All with my rotary and finished down incredibally well. After my test spot i determined my subject to have the infamous supersoft clear and didn't need to get too aggressive to level the imperfections.

Jetblack is pretty soft paint. Should not be that hard unless its your first time. After your second paint correction, you start to work out the kinks and you get better.
