Squeaking Noise from front

I've got my car going into the dealers tomorrow for a roof problem, nothing serious I think, just that it sticks on the drivers side and won't go up unless it gets a little lift as it starts the process.

But I've also been getting a squeaking noise when I go over speed bumps and similar bumpy surfaces, which I want to get looked into while it's in the dealers, only really hear it with the roof down. I don't go fast over speed bumps at all and my last e90 never made a sound over the same speed bumps. Would it be something like a worn bush or something else??

I've only had it a month, so am hoping it doesn't cost me anything, I'm thinking I shouldn't be having to replace parts on an AUC after a month, would that be right??

Tbh with the verts your always gonna get a squeek or rattle... Sometimes worse than others. I don't get many unless I'm on the m way, as for the roof issue.... Defo not normal.

The squeak is from the suspension area though, surely that's not normal??

Had something similar when I had my e90, but it was on the rear and it turned out to be a worn bush.

The roof has got stuck 7 or 8 times and happened today as well, but the 2nd time I had the roof down today it never got stuck and came back up as it should, I know it's gonna make me look like some sort of hypochondriac when I take it in tomorrow and it won't get suck lol

My roof has never been stuck so that's defo something to get looked at. As for the noise coming from the suspension, that is not normal at all.

I have never actually driven with the roof down as the weather hasn't been good enough. Just drop the roof each week, I suppose to keep the mechanism working lol

I'm not overly concerned by either at the minute as I'm sure they can be sorted easily enough, hopefully. I was just trying to sound out if it would be a worn bush.

I'm just hoping I have the car back by Friday evening as I've set Saturday aside to give it a good clean and get it ready for Sunday.

Squeak is either from worn bushes /bearings or mounts i think.

dad's old merc had that when going up and down car parks, i think it was worn bushes.

That's what I've been telling myself too, hopefully it's a minor thing.

Ive noticed this although mine is an e90, used to get sort of air sound now from the passenger side front its more of a rattle, can hear it really clear when the passenger window is down, ive had a good bounce on either side on the front and when i replaced my discs/pads had a good look and cant see nothing.
Handling etc is all fine though

I had a squeak when going slowly over speed humps, turned out to be the ARB bushes. Replaced under warranty and all ok now.

I get a squeak from the driver's side when going over speed bumps, but only when the weather is wet. Once the rain has held off for a couple of days I get no squeaks at all.

After doing a lot of research it seems pretty common on the e9x and a lot of people seem to suggest it's the dampness causing the rubber bushes to squeak, which kind of makes sense. Apparently lubing up the rubber stops the squeak and I plan to do this when the weather dries up properly.

Of course your problem may be something else like worn bushes so best to get it checked out first.

That's the car they've given me for the day, all the way home I was convinced I was in a 3 series, it wasn't until I got home that I realised it was a 5 series lol

They are very similar.

I was driving along thinking wow, the new 3 series has so much room, I was putting it down to it having a cream interior which made it seem bright and open, then the centre console area got me thinking it can't be a 3 series, it's too big for a 3 series.

It's debadged but it says it's a 520d Luxury on the paperwork which I only read when I got home, says it value is £39,015, Got loads of toys on it.

It wasn't even an m sport either I don't think, so add another couple of grand for an m sport version. Had a decent spec, DAB, nav, decent sounding stereo, Bluetooth, leather, electric seats etc etc.

Lovely car to sit in, but I'd have to have a 30d at least
