BMW Dealer Servicing

Hello Guy's and Girl's

Just wondering how many people still use BMW main dealers to service their cars when its out of warranty? And how many use a independent garage?

What sort of customer service do you get?

Cheers

Mine still goes to the dealer. I have a good relationship with them and they treat me fair....

Nope, complete all servicing myself more regularly than BMW recommends, trust myself over some of the main dealer employees!

If mine wasn't under warranty I wouldn't go near them, but as it is & it has free service pack on it, I'll take full advantage

Up until recently, only Indy for me(extended warranty). However,as I've found a main dealer that price matched,I'll use them and see how it pans out.
You can't beat a good Indy though...

I've only had my car since Sept last year and so far I've used a main stealer near me to fix the dreaded red steering lock fault (how unlucky was I!?) - bloody awful experience - the amount they charge you expect decent cust serv but no, they were shocking.
After that it's been an indy specialist to do the thermostats - better but I get the feeling I was ripped slightly as I watched him change them in about 1.5hrs and then watched as this bloke faffed and farted around "checking other things" for another 1.5hrs. I didn't mind so much as I learned how to do them from watching what he did and they ran a load of diags on some other stuff so swings and roundabouts....

Not looking good for the Dealers then. Guess I'd better find a local Indy then.

Thankyou,

Sounds like you had a great experience with Rybrook, exactly how a dealer should be, shame they are an exception rather than the rule. I'm between Reading and Basingstoke so maybe a bit too far, but could give them a call for a quote which I could try and use against my local dealers, I have no experience with any of my local dealers as I'm not long living around this area.

Getting good service from a dealership has been a long time coming, which is awful to have to say.
As your new to your area, make sure you post up a similar thread to mine, for some advice.Someone should be close by and will hopefully advise you accordingly!
