£40k for hatch back is insane money. Lovely car though and I'm sure I might consider it one day, once the bulk of depreciation has subsided. The lassy next door has an identical looking car (colour, lights, bodykit, wheels) - but hers is a 1.6. I think you might be able to see what I'm getting at here....

Is launch control a standard feature on all DSG gear boxes?

That is exactly why I would buy one of these each to their own ... I love something that looks normal but goes quicker than anyone could ever imagine

I doubt very much that the girl next door has an identical 1.6. It's probably a Black edition so has the same wheels, Audi are very bad at keeping wheels exclusive to certain models. I dare say that the average Joe public who knows sweet f'a about cars would think they look the same, after all, they are both white and have a wheel in each corner

The actual bodykits can't be bought off the shelf and parts available elsewhere are extremely rare and very pricey. We're talking £350 at least for the grill alone. The side skirts may fit other sportbacks but the bumpers won't fit any other A3 as the RS3 has wider arches so you would need to change the front wings and weld in new rear quarters.

How does £30K for a Golf GTi* sound before you've added any options? Hatchbacks ain't cheap nowadays, they are no longer cars for the young but rather offer practical mid sized motoring for people that need more boot height than a saloon but don't want or need the bulk of a tourer.

*talking about the ed35.

Agreed mate, just for me I'd rather a sexy fast Coupe over a fast Hatchback.

And how can a Golf R be more money than an S3? Even have to pay for sat nav (which is standard on S3)?

Sat nav isn't standard in the S3.

The S3 had it as Std from about June 2010 (price increase of just over £2K but included more options as std.)

All very nice but Audi cars seem to be very 'samey' these days - this car doesn't look much different to a TDi A3 - which, I agree, can often be a good thing given the trouble some here have had with their VAG cars attracting undesirables.

The black rear glass makes it look like a bread van.

How did you find them to deal with I rang them over a week ago for a price on the TT and they never even got back to me.
