Around £25, saves a £5 and the bother of trawling around the dealer. Some can get funny and try and sell it as an upgrade package including FSC code.
Use them to get 2013 maps and sell them on again

What the hell.

This can be downloaded for free online and burnt to a USB key.

Ridiculous to charge a fellow community member for it!

I hope you were just covering costs from buying it yourself: In which case; Why did you buy it yourself even?

I dont think you are being very fair.

Indeed you you can download online but many people dont know much about torrents or torrent proxies even, someones aloud bandwidth/download restrictions, broadband/internet connection speed and thats not even getting into the legality of things.

Its a genuine disc and some people just like it like that, plain and simple.

Now, if the op was selling downloaded copies then it would not be nice to be selling them at a profitable premium.

Mick, disks arrived this morning, Ive got the activation code and it will be updated tomorrow. Thanks for the prompt delivery.
To those with concerns re selling the DVDs, I dont see a problem really, saves me driving to my dealer and the disks will be on Ebay tomorrow afternoon so they will have cost me nothing.

Not trying to be funny at all here, but I find the comment you made very contradictory. Just so we are clear, on the legal ramifications. I dont think buying the codes from a seria55 whatever inbox it is, is even legit and BMW approved.

Secondly bandwidth argument is silly. Most mobile phone contracts are unlimited let alone landline broadband. Hell you could even walk into macdonalds and eat a tasty double cheeseburger whilst you made use of the free wifi.

So no. Its just another form of mugging off mate. Plain and simple.

Lets get a few things straight:
1. I bought the discs from a forum member for £20, he paid £3.65 postage.
2. I used the discs and sold for........£20 and paid the £3.65 postage.
3. I could download the torrent, lost count of the torrents I used for PS3 and PSP games etc. a few years ago.
4. I only have 2gb memory sticks and no dual layer dvds....go out and buy some maybe?! A false economy.
5. I did not want to use the laptops my kids have all their school work on for torrent downloads...especially with all the nasties some torrents have attached.

I weighed up my options and for £20 I decided to use originals and sell them on for no profit. I also sent them first class and sent the member a pm explaining a few things and offering any help if req.

So the all the above means I mugged a forum member off??

I really dont know what the problem is here, if I thought I was being mugged I would hardly go ahead and buy the item. Im not into torrents etc, I find peer to peer file sharing a pain as well as being a possible source of viruses.

Mick has provided an excellent next day service and offered advise, and Ive saved the hassle of a trip to the dealer which would probably have cost me a few grand once I started looking around their motors!

Ive also got several people wanting the DVDs when Im finished so alls good.

Thanks again Mick.

My Oct 2009 E90 was supplied new with the 2008 maps . I bet theres not one car on the forecourt today with a 2013 map installed. BMW are happy to sell you a new car with old mapping but even more happy to charge you about £200 just to update it!
