Interior Retrim

just wondering if anyone has ever re-trimmed the full interior?

reason i ask is because i have full black leather, but want the red one as i think it looks nicer.....obviously buying the red interior from bmw will cost an arm and a leg so retrimming is the next option.....

want to know prices and the some good places to do as the ones i have contacted want silly money!

thanks

There is a company on ebay that charge you £600, you send them your seats and they send you a set already done, makes it quick and easy.

I have just been looking through ebay, I can't find them.

They are based in Leicester I think, and they do have stuff on there all the time normally, but not at the moment, think it was listed as 'BMW Leather Interior' not as a retrim.

Then it said "to get this price you must supply us with your current seats and door cards.'

I thought it wold be worth swapping with someone who has cloth, and taking £3-400 off them, and then doing the deal with them, costing you £300 maybe even £200 to change.

I will look in my favourites at work and see if they are still in there on Wednesday.

I have heard good reports of these people. Not used them myself, so can't give a personal recommendation.

Hope this helps

This bloke based in Birmingham does retrims, you exchange you old one for a new trimed one, he quoted me £400 to do my e90 beige leather, all seats and 4 door cards. He sent me a sample of the leather and it was very nice, its just Birmingham is a bit far for me to travel.

He trades on ebay - http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/edi280/

Someone breaking a vert with red leather - there would be some differences with the seatbelt being built into the front seats instead of fixed to the car but might be possible to swap the headrests or buy some red leather headrest covers from BMW?

Re-trims always look a bit 'cheap suit' to me.

The leather is never as tightly contoured on the seats as is factory fit.

Little dips and bulges abound.

Of course, proper coachbuilt leather is great of course, just cheap re-trims I'm not keen on.

he wants £700 for it but just like u said there is the issue with the seatbelt etc

i have been quoted £700 to get re-trim, which is a good price but i reckon i can get a red leather interior for about that much if i just wait!

Although this was in my old e46, I purchased a set of red leather seat's n cards and due to some damage I had it all re-trimmed, £1400 in all, went black and red. £700 is very cheep for a complete re-trim

Considering the standard leather is just painted, you can paint yours whatever colour you want, quite a few people have done it. Places will offer it too. Unless your car specifically needs a retrim or you want nicer leather then its the route I'd take.
