Can anyone recommend a good wheel refurb outfit in South London near SW17

Hi Guys

Don't know how this has happened but one of my wheels looks like it's had paint stripper or something thrown on it. As a result the surface metal looks all oxidised and matt.

Funny thing is its only on the one wheel and the others are fine (apart from all the kerbing )

Anyway can anyone recommend a good wheel refurb outfit in south London that won't charge me the earth.

Also given that all four wheels have some sort of kerbing I was thinking of getting them all done. If that's the case would it cost anymore to change the colour and if you were going to change the colour what do you think would look good on a sparkling Graphite e91

Wow, you're extremely local, SW17 here too

I'm afraid I don't know any local wheel refurb places, I've googled it but only ever found mobile wheel refurb places.

Hi Shafz

If you're in the Tooting area I can recommend the guys at Merc Services. They used to work in the old Geyfords Merc garage before it closed.

They've just started doing BMWs now (they've got an ex Coopers of Wimbledon tech down there now). They recommended a mobile guy to me for the wheels but I was just after a second opinion really.

Yeah, Tooting guy myself, I remember that merc garage, 57 bus route/near St. Georges right? Might need to pop down there, you've probably seen my car around tbh, if you drive through Tooting a lot.

I actually borrowed a couple of spare bmw wheels and took mine off the car left them there along with the new tyres for 5 days they removed tyres strip the alloy repair and re paint them and put new tyres back on all for 50 quid.
always had great finish that lasted.

have you tried the smart repairs at the main bmw bodyshop ? they normally are good at this kind of repair.

Yes you are right. When I bought the car second hand the dealer (stephen james) refurbished the wheels and they looked good.

However when I got the tyres changed the finish cracked near the rim in some places when they tried to get the new tyres on.

The BJV engineering repair looks like it might be better if the wheel is powder coated but it is a bit far from me.

Otherwise a local garage has given me the number of a mobile repair guy which is the type of thing the bmw garages use I think

yeah must admit id used these mobile ones before but never as good a finish as a proper refurb where they strip the wheel totally, they are ok if you just want a tidy up to sell your car as they dont last too well. Im sure you will find somewhere good in the end...
