Help with new tires

I currently have Front: 235/35ZR19 91W, Rear: 265/30ZR19 93W all season tires. The ride is really rough and I want a little thicker tire to protect the rims because I will be driving a lot thru NYC which has one of the worse roads ever. The tires have about 50k miles on them.

Can someone suggest me good thickness that would look good? I'm thinking of getting all season tires.

Here is my current tire/rims pictures:

^Front: 235/35ZR19 91W

^Rear: 265/30ZR19 93W

Get 18-inch wheels, then get 235/40/18 front, 265/35/18 rear tires.

The thing is you can't just cange the sidewall, you have to make the tire wider to try to make it bulge out, id try 'borrowing' sme 255/35/19 for the front and 295/35/19 for the rear just to make sure it doesn't rub first of all, then you want to see if the sidewall is going to stick out enough past the wheel to protect it from side damage as well as the pothole damage you spoke of....also how wide are the actual wheels themselves?

I'm not exactly sure about the front but I believe its 8.5 and rear is 10.

I need a taller tires but want to keep the front and back ratio similar. Don't want my front to be higher then the back or back being higher then front.
