4 ignition coils from a 325i 2007 2.5

I replaced the coils on my e92 325i 2007 2.5 about a year ago ,but the coils wernt the problem it was the vanos soleniods and when I replaced them it ran perfectly ,Ive got 4 of them left (I gave a mate 2 as his were knackered) they are the original coils and were in the car for 38k miles ,so they arnt new but would make good spares or replacements since coils are 47quid from bmw

will sell them individualy or the whole 4

in manchester by the way

Sorry to hijack

Why did you think it was the coils? Was it an intermittent misfire under load by any chance?

yeah thats exactly what it felt like ! there were no fault codes and everything pointed towards a coil or injector ,so i changed them ,and the fault persisted eventually a code came up and told me it was the valve timing ,I replaced the vanos soleniods and its been perfect ever since ,you can feel the timing change now where as before it just ran rough ,it was a while ago and I did a thread about it because the vanos soleniods do tend to get mucked up and stick ,mine were just stuck ,you can fix this by cleaning them but i replaced at 50quid each , I took it for a run and couldnt believe the difference

Are they the same coils on a 335i? And are the off a N52N or N53 engine?

Yeah been like ever since I have had the car and I thought it was a coil pack but put it on my mates computer a few weeks back and it came up with a code but I can't remember what it was! Something about crank and cam sensors being out of sync

Try to remove vanos (it's easy) clean it and swap places. Best before you remove them to check on diagnostic which giving you trouble. Than clean and swap. And see if problem comes back. I'm not 100% sure but if intake vanos then misfairing and cutting engine straight after you just start driving. If just after short trip start misfairing then exhaust vanos. That was on my 325 n52 engine.

I know this should be in technical post.
