NYC area higher profile tire advice
Some time soon...suspension and wheel upgrade on my E90 LCI, currently non-ZSP. Suspension will likely be BMW Performance or similar (eibach pro/koni fsd combo), and 18x8.5 square setup, exact wheels not decided yet.
But I would like a higher profile tire than the recommended 225/40 or 255/35 to minimize rim damage events. How high of a profile can I reasonably go without rubbing or other issues? Otherwise I may just stick with 17x8.5's, something like Apex ARC-8's. Also if two rims are 8.5", all else equal, is 18" vs 17" purely cosmetic? Thanks.
