When adjusting dampening and height, can this be done by just taking off the wheel for both front and the back of the car?

yep, dampening is adjusted without removing the wheels, in the front, the adjustment is under your strut bar, on top of the strut, and the rear, you have to remove your trunk liner, to access the top of the rear struts.

height, is adjusted by removing the wheels

Are the KW V3's the same way? My wrench works well in the rear for height adjustment, but in the front it keeps slipping off... is there suppose to be a second tool for the front?

For my KW V2 I have two wrenches, one for the front, and the other for the rear.

Tools come in the box with your KW's. If your installer stole it from you get em back if not and you really need some - I'll help you get some new ones.

There are separate wrenches for the front and back because the diameter of the adjustment rings are different.

Actually, I ordered a set of KWv2's from **********s that also did not come with spanner wrenches. I did complain and after a month of calling/e-mailing **********s trying to get a set of spanner wrenches, I gave up and got KW to throw some in after fixing my defective struts. Oh, and KW also replaced a defective height-adjusting ring that would not lock down because there were no threads for the tightening screw. All that took about 6-7 weeks.

Hopefully ron up there can help you better than I was helped.

Dampening is at the top of the strut, just underneath at rubber cap that is located under the trunk lining.

oh! Well, like I said, that was for the dampening... but you asked about the rebound, which I am not sure how to adjust... I only have the v2's sorry, but good luck!

which way is loosen and which way is tighten?
Also just to confirm to adjust the front its under the front strut bar and the rear adjustment is under the trunk liner and you need to remove the rubber cover?

Softer is counterclockwise
Stiffer is clockwise

Adjustment in front is under strut bar
Adjustment in back is under rubber cover under trunk liner

Took a look today. So I need to remove the strut bar to adjust the coilover?

Also another question. To raise the height is clockwise or CCW if looking straight at the wheel?
Sorry just got these on and they're a bit too low (settled in) and they rub at high speed corner

Yep, you need to remove the strut bar.

hmm... i believe to raise the height is counterclockwise, but you'll need to check that... just look at the threads and you should be able to figure it out...

So I looked at the DIY's and couldn't find out how to remove the strut brace over the front strut. I see a bolt and I'm thinking that if I remove that and try to swing the bar away, I could get enough room to make the adjustment.
Is that true or will I need to loosen the rear of the brace and if so, where is the mounting point?
All I see is that it appears to be under the front windshield cowl

I just used a small torx bit to adjust the damping in the front, instead of removing the strut bar.

Tried that today. You must have fingers of steel.
I ended up taking my BMW strut bar off and the factory strut bar just moves out of the way a bit, enough to clear the adjustment bolt on the strut.

I backed out the adjustment all the way and it FEELS like it's stiffer, not softer but I'll mess more with it tomorrow. I had to go to sears and buy a new jack since mine no longer fits under the car

Okay... I started this thing at 10 AM and I just got done around 7PM.
Multiple problems. The first main one was that I didn't have a rear spanner wrench.

I thought I raised the rear by turning CCW. I don't know how much travel it moves per turn but I feel that it's lower. The drivers side kept spinning with each turn so it was going nowhere.
I ended up taking off the lower control arm and I think I stripped the large 21MM bolt with the "E" shaped washer on the nut side. I marked it the best way I could and put it back the best way I could. I think that bolt controls the alignment?
The 19mm or 20mm nut on the LCA feels snug but it keeps spinning when I tighten it. I felt some resistance and then it felt loose again.

I adjusted the fronts 5 spins CCW and it's definitely higher because I can fit one finger under the fender now.
The rear I adjusted 5 spins CCW and it looks lower

I took it out for a spin and now my steering wheel is pointed more to the left and my DSC and RFT error lights came on.

I think when I took apart the lower control arm it messed up the alignment more than if I just raised the car. I'm going to go at it again tomorrow but I don't look forward to having to remove the lower control arm again.

Oh and I tried to get a wrench to adjust the rear but I ended up filing down an extra front one I had.
