I have the Sony Cybershot DSC-T300 - takes ACE pics for it's size - it has an ally casing so is rugged (dropped mine from quite a height and other than a small dent it still works spot on!), easy to use and fits into a shirt pocket
Only downside is that it uses memory stick instead of SD memory - OK if you already have some, but factor in the cost if you don't. |

Oh and the IXUS comes with a rechargeable battery and charger
The Miswah's Panasonic Lumix uses AA batteries which don't last 5 mins |

Panasonic Lumix is a good camera though. The FX500 is a good buy for £200 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-DM...1262180&sr=8-2

I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 in August. The wide angle lens and decent 10x optical zoom is great and I've had fantastic results. It came with a charger and rechargeable battery and a case and memory card as part of the deal.
The intelligent auto feature and face recognition is useful for quick shots, but you can go into manual mode as well.

I recently bought a Casio EXILIM EX-S10 which I wouldn't recommend. Its pretty crap and will be going back.
