So the douchebag CHP pulled me over yesterday for no front license plate...I first bought the car in 2006 and this is the first time I got stopped for it.
As I was waiting for him to write up the ticket, I point out 3 different cars at traffic lights which didn't have a front license plate, the douchebags looks and doesn't even say a word....DOUCHEBAG! What gives with these cops!
Well here is what I found out...those camera red light tickets are a very big revenue generator for the state, but if your car has no front license plate they cannot convict you.....soooooo step in these douche bags who start ticking people with no front license plate to reduce the amount of cars they need to let go because the red light camera catches their car without a front license plate!!!! Crazy huh....

What's the tow hook? And it looks like this won't work for my 2006 e90 325i? The front grill is different from the OP

So I just bought my e90 and it has no plates installed. I just have the Temporary ID Sticker on the windshield, and brackets on the bumpers w/o any plates of coarse. Can I remove the brackets up until my plates arrive in the mail? Cause i think the coppers will just tail me after seeing no plates or brackets on the car, what do you guys think? I havn't checked to see if holes are drilled on the bumper...i hope not!!! that bell bracket makes the plates look very clean i love the look!

Thank you FrankiE90 for this mod.

I recently got the bracket, sanded and painted it black and mounted it under the bumper just like you suggested with the self tapping screws. I actually still used a drill to make a pilot holes, made the install a whole lot easier and faster.

You cannot see the bracket at all and it's very sturdy! Furthermore I went to the hardware store and picked up a couple of thumbscrews to mount the license plate on/off quickly; without the need for any tools and in a matter of seconds. I lined the back of my plate with duct tape to prevent scratching, works great. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Another product of our justice system giving us the works. You will never win an argument with a cop. The best thing to do is buy a tow hook plate, and put it on just to fix the the fix it ticket, and then take it off.

I haven't got one yet, and plan on makings little of a fuss as possible so as not to piss off the cop and have them ticket me overtime, because I will never comply with this law. If you are super cool with most cops they will remember that your were not a dick to them. The old saying killing them with kindness applies here.

I got the thumbscrews at either Ace or Truevalue (don't recall). They are better at having those types of things. I just walked in with the bracket and tried them until I found the right size. It literally takes me 30 seconds or less to remove/install my plate.

Just got a frickin' ticket today for my tint and no front plate. Guess I'll be heading to Autozone and Home Depot after work. Great idea though!

Just wondering, as you drive and you hit debris on the road, won't the license plate frame flex back and hit the bumper causing it to scratch and dent

Sweet!!

This is great!! Got a nice $190 failure to display front out of state plate while driving through OR, but their computer took about 15 mins to process me for some reason so the trooper knocked it down to a fix it... Autozone + Home Depot here I come!!

great idea. but quick question if my bumper already has the screws. 06 e90 , if i get the bracket will the plate hide the holes? and another question if you tighten really good will the plate still move back onto the bumper while driving?

depending on your speed and the winds, i was going 80 and it was really windy, after I parked the car it was moved back, good thing i had the double sided tape on the back. keep in mind I was in one of the windiest places in california going 80mph against the wind though.

so i ran to autozone this morning and painted it black i was pretty excited and once i pulled the oem bracket. . . ;[

the dealer ran som big screws which made two decntly big holes and then put sellf taping screws for the plate and left markings on the bumper.

and the bracket had left some scratches ;[

but ! i ran the bracket a little bit forward so i can arch it up and bit ,and ran the plate close to the bumper and covers pretty much everything. really like how it looks.

looks alot cleaner
