PMSL.... do you know how shit it would look to see a nice BMW Denzil, then to hear a PTTTIIISSSHHHHHHH?!!

Because your car has a turbo, an electronic dump valve can be fitted but would be a waste of time and be a completely stupid thing to do.

Honestly mate, I'm not trying to put a downer on the idea but your better off spending your money on some M/// badges and other things!!!

I wish I could help you out here mate, however I know nothing about under the bonnet!

I've heard people mentioning air induction kits, which is a lot more easier to attain and does provide a pleasant sound upon acceleration!

As for negative opinions, ignore them!

And sometimes we should all refrain from calling a constructive comment a negative one. You drive a BMW because it's a classy car no? Although I understand and respect your liking to the bov/dump valve sound, you really need to ask the question whether it would suit your car. I would actually suggest you think about buying an evo or a Subaru sti instead and I mean that in a serious way. I actually like the sound too funny enough but I wouldn't dare to have one on my 335i. You don't buy a Picasso to put in a disco lighted frame. Not meaning to be harsh also mate. Hope you take it as constructive advice and definitely not as if I'm "hating" lol..sometimes the best advice can be taken negatively as an attack on freedom of opinion. Anyways, hope you find the correct bov advice of you do stick to your plan

it works on a button so when you lift off the throttle it sends a charge to the BOV to let off.
they do sound a it rubbish tbh..a friend had on on his big turbo diesel fabia..and it was not that great mate

If your dad enjoys dancing, he still going to dance. Its fun!

Same thing here OP, If you really want it, DO IT! At the end of the day, your car is a source of fun! Not a social insecurity tool whereby you must fit that: "I'm a BMW driver and I put a barge pole up my ass".

Via posting it up on here your bound to get both positive and negative criticism.

Back on topic:
Personally if someone asked me If Id like that sound in my BMW, Id say Yes. I personally think it sounds sick.

Dont forget a lot of people like to keep their car stock, I dont and by the sounds of it, you dont too!

It will look shit. If you wanted a big power turbo car buy a petrol 4WD motor for which a BOV will be necessary (if your running enough boost to warrant it) and it won't look as chavvy.

If I saw a 335i with one I'd think chav. If I saw a 911 turbo with one I'd think twat. Even worse on a Denzil 2 litre which really does not need it.

As long as you receive gratification whilst driving your car and hearing that beautiful noise upon gear change, then go for it.

Although it may sound sick to me, it may not sound sick to a baboon with swarovski crystals on his rims and a rod up his arse, big enough to ruin his cloth seats in his pride and joy.

As for trim removals:

It would serve no purpose so I see no point.

I had a Dump Valve on my MR2 Turbo and I loved it. I took it off though as it actually had a negative affect on the engine due to the air flow meter. (It was a rev 2 for anyone in the know). As much as I loved the noise there was no point in having it if it wasn't serving a purpose.

I took the dumper off my Fiesta RS Tubby, and the wastegate chatter (actually it's compressor stall, not wastegate chatter at all) sounded immense, but that was on an old skool ford running much higher boost than standard. It was pretty cool no getting awayfrom the noise.. It's just there!

I wouldn't have dreampt of having one on my twin turbo 335d when I had it.

I can't imagine the OP has ever owner a proper turbo car before. Cuz if you had you really wouldnt feel the need for one on ya 320d

You can't actually put a dump valve on a diesel engine - as there is no throttle valve to 'halt' or slow up the charged air, as on a petrol engine.

The chavvy BOV's you hear on diesels (usually boyed-up 306 diesels either use the brake servo vacuum to give a noise or it is a pre-recorded 'noise'

Avoid.
