Re where to meet up email:
I think the Big Chicken wouldn't be a bad place to meet up, but I'm just wondering if the place is big enough for us all. p.s. Is the plan to drive up, drive the TOTD, then drive back or are people going to spend the night in Tennessee or something?

Possible routes once we get up to Robbinsville.
A) we can take the more direct route from robbinsville to the gap. http://g.co/maps/74kz or B) take the Fontana Dam route. I have never been this way but the dam seems to be a big attraction for most large organized rides. http://g.co/maps/8tsd |

Hwy 28 is great. They call it Hellbended 28. Be sure to check out the Cherohala skyway. It was built in 1996 and has some wide sweepers for 40 miles. I try to make it to Deals Gap a couple time each year and have enjoyed taking my motorcycle through the Gap and surrounding roads. More car clubs show up each year and I can't wait to take the 335i up. Wish I could make this trip but already have plans for the weekend.

You could meet at J. Christopher's in dowtown Woodstock:
http://www.jchristophers.com/locatio...earchzip=30188 Have a decent meal and then hit the road. Heck, I may even meet for breakfast but can't make the run. What time were you all planning on heading out? |

I wouldn't mind meeting at the coffee house since it's 10 mins from me, but I like the idea of getting a good meal before we leave too. Btw, I'm coming FOR SURE now

ok check the evite update... plan is to meet at the jchristopher from 7-8am with us leaving at 8am. I will prob get there at 7:30 i am not eating. i got walkie talkies for 6 cars... (sorry best buy didnt have anymore) they are little black cobras if someone wants to try another best buy email me at brianhberman@gmail.com and ill give you the info. they were like $40 for 2... so not bad!
I plan on going up and coming back. (i may stay in chatt... or stop and have dinner in Chatt) I have the whole 120 miles mapped out and i should be uploading it to my gps tomorrow. If anyone else has Googlemaps in thier GPS and wants me to send them the info via google then let me know. I dont know how many M3s are going but i know my car goes though gas like crazy so i have also a map of the gas stations on the route because i know i will have to fill up. What i think is a pretty good idea to make sure we are all come back in the green with no tickets is we plan out the trip in segmints. There are a number of stops on the route to pull over and rest. What i would suggest is we take turns scouting... someone would leave about 5-10 before the group and drive the segment and radio back to the group that we are good and then we dont have to worry about cops... any thoughts?? b |

Thanks again for setting this all up! I'll be there with my lil Garmin and some printed out maps... I hope that'll do the trick. And +1 on the scouting idea!
See you guys Friday

I was browsing their website and I found a couple pages that are worth reading. They give you some pretty good advice for driving the road safely and when to expect traffic.
How to stay safe: http://www.tailofthedragon.com/dragon_howtodrive.html When to expect the most traffic (which is about the time we're going to get there lol) http://www.tailofthedragon.com/dragon_whentoride.html

Sorry that I'm not going to be able to make this. I'll be out of town until hopefully Friday night. I'm trying to make it to the C&O on Sunday. Have fun guys.
