Some helpful notes on coding for Bluetooth/MULF/Sirius etc.. LOOK HERE IF YOURE STUCK

I've been battling with getting Sirius working on my CIC Nav HU and also getting a MULF2 installed ( With help from the amazing @DJKevinnn and @PichaDis11 )

I havent been able to find this info on the forum easily and I just wanted to share it with everyone.

For those of you wanting to retrofit a MULF2 with Bluetooth and 6FL you need to add both $6FL and $644 to your VO and then do an FA_WRITE to the CAS and NFRM. You then need to VO Code your CIC.

Now the issue that I ran into was not being able to pair my phone, I just got stuck with "Please wait" every time I would select the Bluetooth Phone menu.

The fix for this that took me forever to figure out is this: Simply do and SG_Reset on the 2MULF once you have your VO coded!!!

Here is the reason why it doesn't always just work after adding to the VO and coding the CIC: I was able to figure this out because I read the MULF's coding settings and saw that Bluetooth was not active which makes sense because the car that the MULF came from had a MULF and TCU meaning that the TCU handled Bluetooth and Assist while the MULF only did 6FL (Despite the fact it supports bluetooth). You however cannot code the MULF with a KCAN cable so I instead did an SG_RESET which made the MULF realize that it was the only module in the car, read the VO, and it turned the bluetooth on!

Now for Sirius:

Some of you that are doing CIC retrofit might be aware of the fact that CIC's that came in 2010+ cars (only early build CIC units didn't have this) have a Sirius tuner built into the headunit. I wanted to enable this but spent forever trying to figure out why I got stuck at "All Channels" without any IEMI number or anything.

The solution for this is to read the CIC with NCS and look for a setting called SDARS_IN_EXBOX. In english its asking Sirius tuner is Internal or External (to the CIC).

For the internal tuner to work it must be set to INBOX at which point you should receive the preview channel and be able to get your IMEI.

Hope this is helpful for some people!

Exactly! Exbox means External box or tuner! Give it a shot.

I got this to work, but I don't hear anything through the preview channel. Or maybe that's just normal.

You should be able to get audio. Does it provide the artist info or anything else?

Your built in satellite unit had the fsc code already activated, so thats why you got it to work...For others they wont be able to get it working with just coding Sdars to active and get a ESN number. THe unit MUST have a FSC code imported to the CIC headunit for this to work...If you are retrofitted with a CIC using a emulator I would be able to activate this 6F (satellite radio FSC code) for anyone that wants satellite

Ah yes Thanks Steve, my bad for assuming he already knew this.

YES EVERYONE! Sat radio needs an FSC to work. If you got lucky and the car you got the unit from had Sirius active then you will not need this but if you do need the FSC then see Steve.
