Got my Sp.Gh. E92 335d M Sport - pics
Hi all,
I am now officially a proud member of the E9X club!!! I flew from Dublin to Gatwick on Thurday morning and was collected by the garage (Chandlers Worthing) and brought to the dealership to get my new car. It was at the front of the dealership when we arrived and looked the business. First impressions were good since I had ordered and specced the car without ever seeing it. I think that the dark poplar wood really goes well with the grey leather - but then I would do I suppose Once all the formalities were taken care of, I had a great time driving the 500 miles or so home via Holyhead - Ferry - Dublin - and finally back to N.I. I didnt drive it like I stole it, but did red-line now and again for sheer enjoyment. I will not be doing anything special to run the car in - just drive it as normal. (I know there are different views on this) Some notes: 1. Still not so sure about the auto-box but will get used to it i suppose. 2. Ride is firm, but not ridiculous. (a bit firmer than my 330cd sport) 3. Already quicker than my chipped 330cd sport (esp. 60-100mph) 4. Logic 7 stereo is brilliant (brought loads of MP3 filled cd's with me) 5. Got the hang of I-drive after a day or so. (now love it) 6. Sat-nav is excellent (cant go wrong with dual screen) 7. Bluetooth is great. Integrates 100% with my K800i. 8. Voice control is a bit hit and miss - it can't understand Norn Iron 9. Easier to wash than my 330cd - more smooth or something??? 10. Wheels will be a pain to clean when they get older  So here are a few pics as promised. I give it a quick wash tonite after work.

Welcome, and congratulations. Thanks for posting your pictures. Jade grey does make a nice contrast with the Sparkling Graphite. I think you'll get used to the auto box - it's taken me a while, and some days I still think I'd prefer a manual, but other times (overtaking's a good example) the auto box really proves worthwhile.

Fantastic car- the M Sport kit really suits the colour.
Welcome to the Jade Grey club I'm still getting used to the Auto box, but love it's Jekyll and Hyde character- one minute it's a luxury ultra-smooth GT cruiser, next minutes it's sporty and responsive.

Great car enjoy. Did you look into buying your car in Ireland as I believe prices may have been cheaper for you with euro v stg and the fact you would not be liable for our VRT ( vehicle registration tax )

Quote:
I did price it up on bmw.ie and the car (with extras) came in at €86,120 If you then take off 30% VRT and 21% VAT and add 17.5% UK VAT, the price comes in at €67000 or about £45,500 This means that an Irish dealer would have needed to discount by more than €10,000 to beat my UK price - which is very unlikely. Also the car would always be classed as an import and would not come with Telematics or 3 year warranty.

Nice looking car.
I am loving the leather Its a shame on the E90/91 that you cant have grey leather without having the lower half of the dash grey as well, really suits it with the black dash, on the E92. |

Hello 330cdsport,
How right you are about discount from Irish dealers. You are lucky to have the chance to shop around for the best prices. Here we have to just do the rounds with the same BMW dealers who just do not like discounting. Anyway best of luck with the new car. |

Thanks for all the compliments guys
Since I have been looking thru this newgroup quite a bit in the last while, sometimes when my wife comes into the room and sees me with the laptop she will go... 'Huh! - I see you are looking at your car-porn again!'
