Results from first time at a track (jb3 1.3)
So I know these times arent impressive at all, but keep in mind that it was my first time time ever running my car @ a track. I know that if i would have been able to make more passes i would have done better than my days best.
My JB3 was set at Map 7 with RR Intake, RR Catless DP's and RR Air Scoops. 1/4 tank of 91 octane mixed with 2 gal. of 100 octane. 09' AT Paddle shifting @6k. DSC inactive. Auto Club Dragway in Fontana Ca. Temperature was @ high 60's to mid 70's through out the day. Track elevation is 1110. Im car 6134 the other car was an 08' G37s I ran all passes against him. First Pass 13.530 at 104.81mph (horrible reaction time!) Second Pass 13.495 at 106.82(reaction time got worse!) Third pass(This time on the left lane) 13.195 at 108.12mph(improved reaction time but still really bad) Fouth pass(final and personal best) 12.940 at 108.73mph(my best reaction time of the day) Track Staff Screwed up on this time slip my car number comes up as 6132 should have been 6134 I know I know !! My Driving sucks Ass! but im working on it hopefully my next track experience will be much improved. So what should i be running with the mods I have? (if i improve my driving) Any Advise Mike? By not having Riss Racing equipment on his car. Too often it's shown to be no better than stock (well at least the intake and DP's. Switch brands to ones that have proven gains.
Fontana track is pretty slow. Runs uphill by 3-4 feet over the 1/4 mile too. |

Yeah atleast the intake I don't think the rr intake is any good. Also forget about reaction times and focus on improving your 60ft.

Each track is different... hard to compare other peoples time to your, even at the same track you can have different results. Temp and DA play a good roll in times.
Overall not bad at all. With better temps and a negative DA you will be movin. And of course some more practice |

+1. I'm guessing if the OP ran 12.9sec. @ 108+mph, then the G37 ran 13.7sec. @ 103mph.

Let's see, I believe every CL = approx. 0.2 sec. in 1/4 mi., so he probably ran 13.5-13.7sec. @ 103-104mph, when you ran 12.9sec. @ 108mph.

Yep, those G's are a bit slower than the stock 335i. Even with mods (e.g. intake, plenum spacer, exhaust, etc.), they're just not as fast even with the new 3.7L engine. I remember when I had my '05 G35 Sedan, it was very difficult to get into the 13's, even with mods...14.0+ sec. @ 99.+mph was the norm.

The fastest quarter mile record for an N54 powered car has Riss Racing downpipes and a Riss Racing catback (Terry Burgers 135i)... Riss racing has good results although some people haven't had as good of gains with the intake as terry's DCI...
