Where's the Canadianfederal government in this? They enforce the act and regulations.
To me the first step would be to get rid of the picky differences in bumper standards etc that do nothing more than perpetuate a silly bureaucracy, and then let's have real free trade.

i have nothing against people buying from the states and im a salesman. however the regulations that people are talking about were actually announced two years ago and it was stated that the new regulations would cvome into effect on sept.1/07. also when people have a problem with their vehicle who do you think they come too. because they dont want to drive to the u.s and amvic is not going to help them they storm into dealerships and demand the work to be done. service is no big thing because the dealership is paid to do it but when we have to take the proper process for warranty claims , which does take time, they think we are trying to screw them. Also, when people start trading their old cars in they wonder why they dont get sweet f all. well thats because they started crying about wanting huge rebates on new. unfortunately thats what happens.i personally would buy from there too if i would save some money but for the most part its not worth the hassle. and i know this doesnt refer to everyone. just the people that think everyone is out to get them because i do know in some cases the customer does have a point.

It's no hassle to import a Lexus...
IS350s are being imported with very little trouble... 38-40k after taxes and import charges for a loaded (nav/luxery/etc) 2006 IS350 with around 40k kms. Last edited by Zender; 04-22-2008 at 09:47 PM.. |
