Here are a few pics we took today with some local forum members documenting a comparison between HID and AiB systems for the e92's.

SG e92 M3 Coupe- AngeliBright 10W LED

AW e92 M3 Coupe- HID 6000K

AW e90 M3 Sedan- HID 8000K

Pay close attention to the uniform appearance of the AiBs on all 4 rings, the 8K kit color starts to wash out on the outer rings, mainly due to the lower lumen output. 6K HIDs were very bright at eye level as evidenced by the reflection of the glare in the inner lamps.

Special thanks to Ed and John for participating.

Pictures were posted to generate interest, we'll see how they are received.

I'm personally a fan of white, but the amber seems to work quite well on the M5.

Gentlemen,

Back in 2009, we released AngeliBright - a revolutionary new Angel Eye product on the market for the 3-series Coupe/Convertible and all M3 models. Using a revolutionary design of aiming the LED backwards towards the reflector housing - this allows the LED to distribute the light properly towards both rings for an even appearance - even in direct sunlight.

Fast forward to 2011. European Auto Source (eas) has taken over all production of AiB systems, making some necessary improvements along the way up to its 4.0 release.

AiB 4.0 Improvements:
- Higher LED output than AiB 3.0 kits using a revised HiPower LED Assembly, same as used in modern Airport Runways and Traffic lighting assemblies
- Smaller, more efficient HeatSink design to aid in installation while still retaining proper cooling requirements for optimal LED performance
- Satin anodized finished with laser-etched AiB logo for stealth-like appearance
- Revised HD DriverPacks with heavier gauge wiring and automotive-grade connectors
- 3 Year Warranty, best in the marketplace

Features:
- Absolute brightest product on the market, with uniform light distribution between low and high beam Angel Eye rings using the reflector housing to evenly distribute the light from inner/outer rings
- 5500-6000k to match the low beam xenon headlights
- Precision 6061 aluminum heat sink with “cool-fin” technology. Easy to install with patent-pending two piece design and satin black anodized finish and laser-etched logo
- Much brighter compared to OEM yellow bulbs, or other competing LED angel eye kits
- NO DIMMING of lights when ignition is turned on, rings remain at full power at all times
- Complete microprocessor controlled ballast system specifically designed for the 3-series Coupe/Convertible and all M3 models.
- Easy installation in 10 minutes
- Integrated Plug & Play Connectors, no external harnesses required
- No AM/FM radio reception interference
- No Flickering, Blinking or Flashing on startup or On-Board Computer(OBC)/dash errors
- Manufactured and assembled in the USA

More info can be found in the Sponsor's section or our website.

Aggressively priced for a new design

But I always wondered, since the AIB's have a rearward facing LED, the area that I circled would reflect even more light output if it was polished(?)

Can't wait to see some installed pics!

Very interesting.. I was about to order something to replace my burnt out OEM H8 bulb. Need to see some videos, pics, and reviews first.

Just out of curiosity, will these work on the E90 LCI as well, since it uses a H8 bulb for the angel eyes, like the E92 Pre-LCI?

Here are the questions you're going to get slammed with, Tom.
1.) Pictures, at every angle known to man.
2.) Comparison shots vs the old V3's.
3.) If V3 were 10 watt, what are the V4's?
4.) Why is the V4 anodized in black, won't that produce less light than polished?
5.) Will the outer ring be as bright as the inner ring?
6.) Will this throw codes (even though the previous version didn't, they'll still ask).
7.) Are these as bright as the 2012 OEM's.

These will not work on e90 non-M models, sorry.

Most information is already covered in the thread from the previous v3.0 models - the v4.0 is about 10% brighter.

Pictures will be provided as time permits.

The reflector housing does most of the work on light distribution - allowing the rings to be evenly lit. While polishing the pocketed areas may add for light deflection, the amount would be very little.

I'm glad you fixed the plug design, but will it still require you to keep the ballast outside the housing like the v3 version? I'm sorry to say but I had a bad experience with the v3 and connectors. I also had a hard time sourcing parts for your v3 kits, even though they only been on the market for a year, will it be the same for these v4? I understand you carry a 3 year warranty, but like many forum members we buy them new or used from other members and are not the original purchaser so in that case we resort to having to fix them ourselves.

Late V3 units and all V4.0 units allow to keep the DriverPack inside the headlamp.

We will still keep replacement parts on hand for those not covered by warranty or have purchased used. Since we are manufacturing for AIB - we have a bit better control over the process and availability, as well as service.

hmm, when I recently (month ago) called about installing the pack inside the housing I was told to install it outside the housing because of the excessive heat. also can you describe the difference between the new version "Late" and old version of the AIBv3. how do I tell what version they are? also if you do carry parts on hand why was I told last week you no longer carry the AIBv3 and cannot get the part (new bulb with wiring ) I need to fix my set? sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I feel I'm getting lead around here. I have posted a thread about my issue: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=558020.
