Montego Blue E92 Paint Correction - Bunch of Pics(before and after pictures)

II didn't do the correction to the car I left that to the pro.

I must say I'm very please with the work, I feel bad for neglecting the paint for the year and a half I've owned it but lucky it's much better now and shiny!

- Washed with Chemical Guys Citrus Wash diluted to remove any protection still on vehicle... but I found out there was none :surprised:
- Dried with Soft Microfiber Towels
- Clay Bar using Detailed Image Gentle Fine Grade Clay
- Single Stage Polish with M205 on LC white pad with PC7424XP DA Polisher (remove 75%+ of swirls, but unable to correct deeper defects)
- LSP - CG Blacklight
- Basic Engine Cleaning and Dress all plastic engine components w/ 303
- Quick interior vacuum and dressed all vinyl with 303

Before: You can easily see the swirls in the paint

^bugs guts and stains on the front

^Dirty wheels, but not too bad given it was a BMW.. I've seen much, much worse.

^Example of a deeper scratch that was unable to be removed

^Some water spots lightly etched into clear coat

^Scratches Under Driver's Side Door Handle (no after pic, but removed ~75% of them)

^Hard water stains on paint - thanks Illinois Rain

^Absolutely no water beading meaning car had ZERO protection (wax or sealant) on it. Shame Shame Shame!!!

^Wheel Cleaner going to work

^Working with the clay

^Dirty clay after going over the hood. Someone needs to take a bit better care of their car :squareeyed: I've seen worse, though.

^Checking out the damage under halogen lights after being clayed - more swirls

^Taping off anything that may be damaged from polish or wax

^More taping

^Taping off my test location

^Test spot before correction

^After correction - most of the swirls/scratches removed

^Checking out the test spot in the sun, looks good enough to me

^Fender Before

^Fender After

^Engine Before

^Engine After

^Hood After

^All Done

^Trunk looked great afterwards

^All cleaned and dressed

^Paint just looks dripping wet, turned out great.

^Hood is a ton better, but not flawless. It was the worst part on the whole car.

^Happy with the results

Sparkling!! Question, when you hire the pro, do you get to select which products they'll be using on your car?

No I left it all to him, but if you had a product you wanted to use I don't see why one would deny using it. (assuming you provide the product)

I know this thread is slightly dead, but I wanted to ask what front lip you've got on there? It looks great.

It's fine man

The lip is a Hamann rep in carbonfiber.

Very nice piece for the money.

Did he use a rotary buffer or a dual action polisher? From the tape I'm guessing rotary.

Thanks man I was bought through my local BMW dealer.

It's the OEM M-Tech rear bumper. (painted like the 335IS)
