Hmm, weird issue with folding mirrors while washing car.
So I coded in the feature for my windows to roll up and mirrors fold in when I lock my car, and now I noticed whenever I wash my car, my mirrors fold in and doors lock, but I'm not touching the locks or keyfob..
Anyone else experience this before..?? Almost like a rain sensor or something is telling my doors to lock and mirrors to fold lol..

BeastMode335 could you try and get the car a wet but with one window open, and see if it closes the window as well?
If that's the case then most likely it is the rain sensor, which is a nice mod in case you forget to close your sunroof when it rains. |

My car seems to lock and the mirrors fold when water hits the door handle... I just figured it was the code I did to fold the mirrors and close the sunroof with a 3 second hold of the handle.

Yeah that's what mines doing, but I wonder now if the windows would close as well? I've only noticed it with the windows already put up..

This is normal with comfort access and the "fold mirrors" code. Annoying, but normal.

So do you know if it will put the windows up as well since that was a part of that coding that I did..?? Kind of like a protective measure if you forget to put'm up and it starts raining..

You can test that in a car wash though - leave the passenger front window down and start washing the car on the driver's side. When the mirrors fold, the open window on the other side will either close or stay down |

The coding can vary. I set mine up to close the windows and fold the mirrors with a long press of the handle. The mirrors fold themselves fully once the process starts. However, the windows require holding the car handle until they are fully shut. That is probably why the mirrors fold and unfold as you wash the car but the windows don't close. I don't think this is a protective measure... or any kind of rain sensor. I think the car just thinks you're touching the handle and begins the coding routine to shut everything. |

That's not how that feature works. It only closes the sunroof and it only works when the car is on, with the auto wipers enabled.

to close windows and sunroof upon rain detection requires the car to be turned on was my understanding

Oh truu, I do believe that Betty has a personality and mind of her own though, so it wouldn't surprise me for her to just open and close shit whenever she felt the need to lol.. "Black Betty" is my whips alter-ego

Rain sensor is under rear view mirror. The car won't let you lock keys in it. It's a German car thing. Now an American car, different story.
I took my girlfriends C5 corvette for a wash. Left keys in it as normal. Got done and locked out. So sitting in wash bay on a beautiful day with a line of cars wanting a wash. 45 min later my girl shows with 2nd key. I found out the next day that shaking car activates key and unlocks car. Felt like a real dumbass. |

Best to keep the metal key on you or if washing at home just leave the key in the house instead of in your pocket when washing.

This happens every time I hand wash my car.
It's the CA acting up. The car will lock, unlock, fold mirrors etc. I just put the key aside far enough CA doesn't work. |
