Lightbulb $676 Hifi coding in Rheingold possible?

Hi all,

When I was last time at the dealer/specialist I saw it was possible to checkbox the "apline retrofit" option a.k.a. Hifi in Rheingold. But during this time it was connected with a icom box.

Is it possible to code it myself using Rheingold i.c.m. a OBD2 K + D can adapter?

Also I would like to know if Rheingold in this case starts to overwrite all my modules?! I have a chiptuning and of course would not like to loose it.

I don't have experience with NCS, yet... If I could find a good DIY that would be a good option to.

Thanks

This a relatively new feature of Rheingold. It's commonly known at ISTA+ and allows for some coding / programming and retrofits almost like a Winkfp+NCSExpert addon.

I don't think anyone has got it to work with E9X chassis yet though. Only F series. It requiring adding and modification of some files for offline use (i.e. not connected to a workshop ISPI setup).

I think in reality you'd be better learning how to use:

Tool32
Winkfp
NCSExpert

Together they are a very power set of tools.

You needed an icom cable even in NCSexpert

You needed an icom cable even in NCSexpert
on some of the later e90's for some reason.
Don't know exactly when that started.

I am also still looking for the answer on that one. I think I saw somewhere starting from 2010.

Anyway my car has MOST. So if the modules are MOST related only option will be ICOM.

I have seen posts on the stereo board

I have seen posts on the stereo board saying you need the icoma
cable which is the one that goes on the OBD port to do the change
it doesn't have anything to do with most direct.
Bimmertech sends you and icoma cable to do it .
They charge you 160 for the change and a refundable depost on the
cable.
