I was wondering whether my cic+combox coding would disappear if i disconnected my battery and then reconnected it again. can anybody tell me who has experienced this with a retrofitted cic+combox in their car.

No, you wouldn't lose any coding by simply disconnecting the battery. You'll just have to reset your clock on the CIC, that's it.
