Saw the add in this months BMW Magazine

From Summer for 320D and 120D power upgrades to 197Bhp for all 1s and 3 series up to March 10.

Hmmm seems now its more obvious why they made chipping the LCI cars harder.

Though I bet it will cost a fortune

Interesting...so is this just remap?

If they price this right and as its keeps the warrenty this could sell well.

They can charge 2 grand for satnav that you can buy a better system for £100 in Halfords so why not charge many times more that the going rate for a power upgrade just because it has the BMW stamp on it.

Asked about this at the stealer the other day - they reckoned less than £1k as the 335 one is about that.

i think i was quoted something like £2,500 (yes, TWO AND A HALF THOUSAND QUID) for 24bhp and 50 odd lb ft on the 330d by my local dealer...

The 335i one (parts only) is about a grand.

But fitted its about £2,500!!!

On the 335i, as well as the remap you get an additional radiator and fan plus other gubbins which needs plumbing in etc.

If the 320D is a map only, I reckon they'll do it for £999.

Loads more than an after market map, but it'll bring people in who want to pay to keep the warranty.

it also includes hardware like additional cooling. in the auto even the clutch / torqueconverter is upgraded. prices are known in germany.

Is this for the 163hp or 177hp?
