Is there something special about the engine and/or ecu for 2009? I have a friend that just installed a V3 on an 09 he picked up the first week of October and it works fine.

Some people have speculated that some new tunes might not work on the 09 model 335i's, but this doesnt seem to be the case!

I would love to see some confirmation that V3's and JB3's are not detectable on the '09s...

Indeed. Here in Europe all major tuners have confirmed to have no issues with the 09 models 335i. The challenge was the ECU switch in March 2008, but which was cracked by most of them in July/August. Apparently there have been some minor changes to the ECU programming (mainly to reduce fuel consumption), but no further anti-tuning-protection.

How are they able to verify "no detection codes present"? Without knowing how detection codes are stored they cannot be ruled out. Just because a light didn't throw doesn't prove that there isn't an indicator stored in the DME, right?

there is a thread somewhere i will pick it up, Eurobahn and split second test there SSTT with dealer equipment so to see if they trip any codes at a dealer level and they also check using other equipment. the SSTT has always been able to be invisible because of its low PSI and non controlling ways, it basically lets the ECU do most of the work so nothing goes alot out of range.

This is good news as I'm shopping for an 09. I was at my local dealer yesterday and inquired if they were doing Dinan on the 09's yet and they said not only were they not, they have stopped ALL Dinan installs until the recent litigation is settled. They did say this is an individual dealer decision but for the time being, they were opting out of the Dinan program.

So, if I pick up an 09 I guess it's the SSTT FTW.

Jeff from Eurobahn hasn't posted here in awhile. I actually messaged him yesterday asking about progman 32 compatibility as well. Regardless of the shift in products from the tuner side, the SSTT still has it's market. Hopefully he'll update us all on here.

...we'll see, once JB+ is fully up and released. Gonna be even harder to justify the SSTT then.

I have a 2007 E92 with the SSTT. I will be getting a 2009 car soon. Are the older SSTT's the same as the new ones?

The support for the SSTT has gone down the drain, im not sure what ever happened to Jeff@eurobahn i haven't seen him around for a good while now.

Probably wont get a answer, contact Split Second directly and or email them.

P.s. The OP JOe335i has been banned from what i hear on N54tech. Not sure he can reply.

this is what i got from another forum:

Quote:
Take everything with a grain of salt.

If the SSTT was run in colder weather, boost would be lower as well as fuel trims (which is what sets off the code).

Run that same SSTT in warmer weather, boost will be higher as well as fuel trims thus setting off the code.

Tell them to run that 09' in the middle of summer with 90+ degree temps and see if it doesn't throw the warranty code.

What did you expect from SSTT? They aren't going to come out and say, "Yep, it throws codes...sorry"
As some of you may know, the codes are thrown if the psi goes up by more than 2.5 psi. The SSTT adds between 2-5 psi. Therefore as this person mentioned, the codes will be thrown off in the summer due to the use of higher psi's to generate that power.

So i don't think the SSTT will be invisible.

I think its better to go with JB+ if you are looking for easy installation and invisibility. If not JB3/V3 FTW!

This is what I heard from Terry as well. I hope Jeff clears this up...I don't know if this is the JB camp spreading FUD due to the JB+ release.

Its pretty much a no brainer. If the JB+ does what its supposed to do, and is half the price of a SSTT why would anyone bother with an SSTT? I mean I have an SSTT but I would really like to test out the JB+ and see if there is really a noticable difference between the 2.
