Vehicle Inspection(SS) - needed?
so my onboard computer on my 2009 335i iDrive shows that I need to do a vehicle inspection. Its the first item on the list of car status.
I called Parkview today to book an appointment, and the lady on the phone told me that this service is not necessary in Canada? is that true or is she smoking something good? Should I try another dealership? Last edited by commie; 11-02-2011 at 06:24 PM.. |

You were given partially true info.
The "state inspection" is for mandatory safety and/or emissions testing in many US states and is just a reminder that this is due. If you have Nav, you can actually set this yourself. In ON and BC, you can set it to remind yourself that emissions testing is needed, although I beleive that this is part of your license sticker renewal anyways. In the rest of Canada, we just pollute away.... |

I had the same light come on for my 100k service, they had a look over it and checked everything out, i ended up getting a coolant flush and a 4 wheel alignment.. weird how things like that work lol
