E92/E93's future?!

What is going to happen when F32 comes to the market? will people forget about E9x's, like they have forgetten E46's?

Are you willing to trade your E92/93 for a new F32 then?

If the car is not falling apart when "F32" comes out, why would anyone want to do something like that?

I respect and like the E46 hugely and the E9X is still great and will remain that way. A car like that just doesn't get forgotten, even when the better F30 is launched. I mean for goodness sake, even the Ford Scorpio is remembered!! Speed, looks, luxury and superb handling are just some of the things it will not be remembered for. Quite the opposite infact.

Going from an inline 6 to a 4 cyl ain't worth it. Might as well go straight to the turbo charged M3 V6 if the rumors are true about its specs

Average Joe wont be able to tell them apart it's not that drastic of a change besides if you have a coupe you probably will get an extra year and half of new since next 2 door will not yet be available until then also by the looks of the F30 I would not run out and get one that's for sure...Not that spectacular looking in my eyes. Do like the pic of the Grand coupe 4 maybe worth that wait.

Oh Boy.... here we go....

My last car was an Audi A4 1.8T, it had slightly less power (once chipped) and way better gas mileage. The new specs indicate even better gas mileage and even better power. I'm sure a chip will be out which will give it even more power with little to no change in mileage.

Let me know when I can trade!

You all have no choice you're all gonna have to move to the four pots one day. Your in-line sixes ain't going to outlive you that's for sure...

My current cars are a 2.0T TSI VW (huge improvement over the 1.8T) and a N52 328i. All things considered I would take the N52 anytime over the 2.0T.

I've never liked how the sedan E90's looked so I'm looking forward to seeing the F30's. E92 has looked sharp the day it came out and still look damn good, I get lots of "nice car" comments wherever I go with mine, especially when freshly washed and looking crisp. E93 looked good to me at first but after a while the retractable hard top looked weird and didn't like that look anymore, but certainly looks good again once you fold back the top.

Anyways, The new F32 will have to damn good looking to successfully replace the E92. The life cycle of BMW's usually run longer than say Hondas, and this model change seems to be coming kinda early, by about 2 years it seems. Even when the new F32 comes out I'll most likely still have my E92, as I'm planning on keeping it for the next 4 years at least til my next car purchase. IMO the E92 was built very future proof, and will give the F32 a run for its money whenever it does come out. We all know how when the E92 came out some dealers were asking ridiculous mark ups and many were not willing to negotiate at all let along dropping the price to ~$500 above invoice what many of us bought them for in 2011. I am sure when the F32 comes out the same will be the case. It will command big dollar signs unless it does not meet or exceed the E92 in looks. I get the feeling it will though, and many who buy them new will pay dearly for it.

One thing I'm not looking forward to is that the 3 series seems to be getting larger and heavier through every generation cycle. Even my E92 does not feel nearly as nimble as say, an E36 M3. I use to drive me friends all the time and although not as powerful it was raw and felt great throwing around in corners at speeds I wouldn't do in my E92.

I'm hoping when it comes out the pricing of the E92's comes down . Around march is when i'm going to look to buy a used E92 so i'm hoping by then the price will be even lower

My next car will be a 335is E93 or current gen M3 E93, and I'll be happy with any of them. They are beautiful cars, even if the F3X are out.
