Hi Guys I just finished the conversion
with the m performance BMW brembo Calipers 370mm discs front, 345 rear. I also replaced master cylinder with e92 m3 unit & fitted ECS stainless lines, have Bled Calipers.. no leaks & took for a test drive.. no brake bite, poor pedal bite, pressure feels weak/ braking power no good. Pedal doesnt feel spongy you just have to push really hard on brakes now to get sufficient response.. like what happens when discs are wet & you it brakes I am a bit concerned.. any ideas what the issue could be? I have new discs but still kept the original pads that were in the calipers for now ..so maybe this uneven connection is a problem till they bed in. but I didnt expect it to be this poor . I am also wondering if air in the abs unit would cause this? Brakes bleed seemed to go ok so I wanted to get some feedback asap. hopefully a solution comes soon |

Air doesn't give you a stiffer pedal. Air gives you a spongy pedal. How man times did you bleed? Did you hit the caliper with a rubber mallet to dislodge all the bubbles? Did you rough up the pads as they were not new? Did you bed them in with the correct procedure? I think the pads need to be roughed up and bedded on the new rotors.

They would if you made custom brackets and there's a 1 addicts thread that talks about what's required.

If the pedal travel/stroke is similar to stock but the pedal is hard to press to achieve the same stroke, you have vacuum supply issue. If the stroke is similar to stock and the foot pressure required is similar to stock but brakes are weak like you say, I think you just need to bed them in properly. Since you fitted used pads to new discs, this will take even longer. I suggest new pads and bedding properly if you are 100% confident in your bleeding procedure. |

To be safe I went with a 3mm spacer up front with my 313's. It was just too tight without one.

As long as the bleed nipple ends up at the top they should be fine. Some callipers have different size pistons depending on direction of travel but f30/f80 ones do not.

With a couple cobalt 1/2" drill bits. They dull fairly quick, and one of these https://www.mcmaster.com/#rotary-deb...tools/=1bheyae The long shank can come in handy shaping the hole outwards.

No, it's not plug and play. It's possible but not easy. Feuer would know the details if anyone would.

Can anyone confirm if the 19" 313 rims will clear the 340mm F20 brakes at the front? I assume so just wanted to check. My MV4 wheels are buckled.
