I'll definitely be switching out my RDs for these... would be interesting to see a side by side comparison though.

This is an interesting time as far as aftermarket e92 halo lighting. The first party to develop a solid product is going to profit immensely from the demand out there.
i think you've been living under a rock. There are 7 different ones available for E92 and 9 for E90 (and that's not counting knock-offs). People have been developing these for the past 3 years.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I'm currently in Taipei at the moment at AMPA with some business associates and will be returning shortly.

First moment of discussion - daytime pictures.

The LEDs being used are an SMT LED 5500K equivalent which give off a bright white light, unfortunately - it can be a bit hard to catch in photos. What we do not want to do is digitally enhance the photos (ie: photoshop) since this is not a true indicator of what they look like in person.

Those in the SoCal area are more than welcome to stop by and see the vehicles in person.

There have been a LOT of contenders in the Angel Eyes for coming up with a possible solution - most of them were failures. And don't even get me going on GP Thunders. There's a reason why we haven't offered anything in the past - simply because there was better coming in the near future, which is about here.

Here's a diagram of the fiber path used in the e92 setup:

The inner lamp will always get a direct shot from the bulb (H8). However, the outer projector will always be weaker due to the travel path needed in the fiber lines to illuminate the ring. This is why the outer rings are always dimmer than the inner.

All the latest and greatest bulbs on the market will not correct this design. This HID kits are interesting as they use a very high color temperature, reducing the lumen output in order to illuminate the rings. Unfortunately - this gives a very blue color, which is not what we're looking for. Also - HIDs run at very high temperatures. These headlamps are by no means cheap to replace.

Voltage Requirements:

E9x M3 headlights are very sensitive to voltage and can give off errors if the proper resistance is not detected as what the system would expect from a H8 bulb - a reason to why "resistor packs" are required on the HID setups. LED systems use a driver pack, which will be integrated into the system to keep these errors from appearing.

System uses very little power and is double the output (10W) than most kits with no flickering experienced from the vehicle's bulbcheck system

Durability Testing:

We have had 4 vehicles in testing since late December with no errors produced. One car you haven't seen would be our Project1 from the 1addicts forums:

We're about as excited as you are.

Things to expect:

- 5500-6000K temperature for a bright, white light.
- Easy 10-minute installation
- 100% Plug and Play, without the need for wire splicing, tapping or additional wire harnesses
- OEM-like integration
- Low heat output, unlike colored bulbs or HID kits

There's no need to complicate a mod that should be relatively simple on the end-user's side.

More to follow.

We were approached in the past to carry the RD versions, they simply weren't up to par on light output.

Questions are welcomed - we'll have video footage coming shortly as well. In the meantime, SoCal locals are welcomed to come by and see them in person.

Tom, the RD did hit the channel quite well but it didn't have the light output to be bright during the day. How much brighter (%) are you then RD? Are you using a similar design?

Both PIAA and RDash use a butterfly-type design to direct the light towards the fiber leads - innovative in concept, but didn't really work well in real-world testing. PIAAs had the weaker of the LEDs - they can't even been seen in daylight.

Both were using a 5W LED, we are using a 10W instead. This is a much different design than previous offerings with close attention paid to light direction to achieve uniform light brightness between both pairs of rings.

Ok, so you are trying to use a similar idea in aiming the light, but just doubling the power. The concept sounds good. I do appreciate your willingness to inform us Tom.

Deflecting light paths, yes - however, we are not utilizing a butterfly design like the RDash/PIAA units, it just doesn't work as seen in the past.

Tom...thanks for the info. Seems like you guys did the homework.
Will this fit the 1 series or this is model specific?
Any chance of a groub buy on this or can you provide a price?

The 1er is still in the testing phase, but wanted to show progress on other models - which serves as a bit of a comparison as well. The bulbcheck system in e8x applications is a bit different than e9x models.

Pricing will be announced starting next week as we begin to prepare for shipments.

Let me start off by saying I'm not trying to start a war. I just want clarification about 2 new PnP angel eye units on the market. With that said here it goes:

How does this compare with marks new e92 Lux? Can you specify as I want the best kit for e92. Please provide the lumen output and all that other jazz so we can have a side by side comparo.

I'm not trying to thread jack I just have a lot of questions and as a consumer I'm very confused. TIA.

Studio shots - you can really see the time and effort going into CNC machining (5-axis) before the final product is completed.
