That promo price is darn good if it's shipped for that price.
Wow.

Even with shipping I thought it was a pretty good deal for a high quality FMIC.

In case anyone comes across this thread, I would steer clear of Mishimoto. They have a bad batch of intercoolers with the drivers side coupling being clocked wrong making it not fit in the car as advertised. I have also had a bad experience working with them to get a warranty replacement. They have been really dragging their feet.

That's the problem though; they still have yet to get me a replacement and are not communicating with me. I was promised a replacement by the end of last week but no tracking info and no part.

If it helps for anyone who has a Msport E92, the shroud was a pita. I cut off the whole lower shroud to fit the 7" VRSF intercooler. Other than that everything went smoothly. Took me about two hours on Friday to realize I didnt have the right drilling tool. Then another 2 hours to have the right tool, went and got a saw to cut it off. Looks sweet though though The grille, Thanks Mike for the fast shipping.

Jason,

As noted in the other thread regarding our cooler, we do apologize for the delay in regards to your warranty exchange. Our typical process is far quicker however we did need to inspect our existing stock to properly segregate the effected units and remove them from stock.

As discussed with our team earlier today, we have a replacement unit on the way and tracking information has been sent to you.

Let me know when your replacement unit arrives!

We have also identified the issue within our process which resulted in the incorrect clocking of our inlet. This process is being modified to eliminate the chance of this occurring in the future.

Thanks
-John

Thanks John. I am eagerly awaiting the replacement unit's arrival (should be Thursday).

BTW, back on track to this thread. I was looking around and I noticed that the Dinan FMIC uses the stock connections as well. I would take that as a pretty good sign that they are not that huge of a restriction otherwise Dinan would have opted for replacing them.

Wow.
Interestingly enough they only started selling the intercooler in the last few weeks. We've been selling it since it's inception, at the same price.

They say imitation is a form of flattery.

As a side note, we've had no bad stock of Mishimoto FMIC's like other vendors. Just some food for thought.

It sounds like you guys got lucky then and had a supply of parts before this bad batch. You did tell me you order from the same warehouse as most vendors though so it may be just that you are benefiting from the fracas.

We do have access to the same distributors as most vendors, yes. We've been in business much longer then them so there are certain advantages to seasoned companies.

I can't give away all my trade secrets...

Understood. Honestly I would have purchased from you but at the time I was looking to buy you folks seemed to be completely shut down and out of the office.

I believe you picked the one week I was on vacation in the past 5 years.

I appreciate your consideration though, I really do.

Yeah, about my luck too. I should finally have a good intercooler installed by this weekend.

Schweet.

Got a 1966 Mustang 2+2 GT A-Code myself. It was the very first car I bought, back in 1984... or was it '85?

Alas, it's been sitting under a car cover in my garage for the past 20 years after getting completely stripped and ready for a restomod project that got sidelined by other projects and life (sigh).

I'm looking at getting the vrsf ic. Is there a real big difference between the 5" stepped and the 7"? have an 11 m sport if that matters.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 7" are typically used with aftermarket turbos and the 5" for OEM.

No not necessarily. But it will help when you upgrade the turbo. I went with the 7" because turbo will be swapped out with the Pure by the end of the year or beginning of next year.

I only had an issue installing the VRSF 7" because the whole shroud had to come off on my E92 Msport. So if getting that, you'll have to trim off the whole bottom piece of the shroud. Hope that helps.

So which vendor is willing to ship a Mishimoto IC to my Army Post Office (APO)? I can't seem to find the USPS option on any of your websites...

Sorry you are having trouble acquiring our intercooler. I believe we spoke through PM in regards to options for purchasing. Have you checked out any of our dealers in Germany? We have a dealer locator on our site which turns up quite a few retailers.

http://www.mishimoto.com/locate-a-distributor.html

Let me know if that helps out!

Thanks
