Jordan,

Here is the questions I have.

Does your exhaust system delete the second cat (hard to til from pics)?

Is it a completely seperate dual exhaust? If so, how did you deal with the cold start issue (i.e. closing half the exhaust on the stock exhaust until the cat heats up / any CEL)?

How much ride clearance is the vehicle loosing with your new exhaust (it
looks like it hangs down much lower than stock)?

Is your exhaust noticably louder than stock?

Lastly, anyone get the Xede & your exhaust with a custom tune from Shiv yet?

Thanks in advance, Pete

To answer some of your questions:

Yes, the secondary cats get deleted. It is a true dual exhaust with both pipes running side-by-side under the body, essentially the same path/style as the stock system. You can think of our exhaust system as basically a stock system with different mufflers, less crimps, and larger pipes.

We haven't had any cold start issues after deleting the exhaust valve in the rear.

The change in ground clearance is negligible since the exhaust takes the same path to the rear of the car. The only change is clearance is going to be due to the slightly larger diameter piping.

The sound is somewhat louder than stock, without sounding overbearing. The videos are a good representation of the sound inside and outside of the car.

Finally, no, no one has tuned their car with our exhaust on it. The last we heard, the Xede wasn't being shipped until after the new year.

Let me know if you have anymore questions Pete.

Jordan,

Thanks for all the info. & quick response. I am currently waiting on my xede to be shipped, then exhaust is my second step (the key here is having a map available for the xede with the upgraded exhaust). Hopefully someone gets your exhaust soon and them gets custom tuned by Shiv.

Keep up the great work

Pete

That exhaust sounds like a Porsche with headers/exhaust, kind of that deep flat sound...very nice.

The only thing I don't care for is the tips, otherwise, that is a sick sounding exhaust.

Now, mod the ECU and up the boost, suspension etc...that will be a nice ride.

Thanks man!

As far as the tips, we've been looking for suggestions, but as far as I know no one has shared with us a tip they prefer. So, we took it upon ourselves to try a different style.

The tips are straight cut, 3.5” OD x 3” core reduced to 2.5” ID x 3.8” long, fully polished.

You mean dual tips on each side, like the E46 M3? I don't think so, unless you can swap out your bumper for one that has a wide enough exit. I think the opening at the rear is only about 4", so there isn't much room for two tips. That would look very trick though.

Ah ok, I see. We can pretty much put whatever style tip you want on the exhaust system. For production, we'll probably just stick to a single tip on each side since most of our customers probably won't be so blessed as to have a friend who can professionally modify the stock bumper. But if you find a tip style you like and want one of our exhaust kits, give us a call and I'm sure we can accommodate you.

Ok, John's BACK! lol
This exhaust is now available, and you guys should do pre-order NOW!
$1575 for this beautiful exhaust with maximum gain (compare with others, example, Agency power). I personally had this on my car, and you feel the gain as soon as you drive, and the sound is so nice.

I am personally buying another 335i (e90, sedan), probably going to test fit this exhaust as soon as my car arrives, than you know CP-E's exhaust can be fitted on your sedans too!

They are hard to get in touch with, but keep trying. Talk to Josh about it. He should inform you the best!

now, shell we start a GB?!

The best is just not to have any "tips". Just cut the exhaust after the rear bumper.

As for M3 type of tips, that's just a design flaw. Adds weight and restricts flow. And some less educated people might think you don't have twin turbo power at all...

Need more sound clips My concern is drone. Can someone post an inside clip cruising at 40,60,80mph? I think the exhaust makes it sound like a Porsche. Sounds great.

I think Kooks sells the muffler and the tip.

CP-E is a manufacture not wholesaler.

Kooks and CPE have a unique relationship. We have considerable resrouces in regards to electronics development, whereas Kooks has a shop that is considered to be the "creme de la creme" of exhaust fabrication. We've been sharing and co-developing projects with them for some time, and the 335i exhaust is just one example. Kooks is actually about to release a 3" exhaust cutout that we developed for them.

For people who aren't familiar with Kooks, they are one of the most respected header manufacturers in the country.

You got it. Back when I had a Mustang, I used to drool over their headers too, but they were a little too rich for my blood at the time. I had to settle for some BBK long tubes which didn't fit AT ALL

Actually, to my knowledge, they won't be selling the 335i exhaust system. We just borrowed their facility and their expertise to prototype the kit. Kooks has been really good to us in the past, so we try hard to take care of them too. But as of right now, we're the sole manufacturers and distributors of the exhaust system.
