Let's hope BMW USA does the right thing. New 330d M sport
I had the pleasure of checking out a new UK spec F30 330d M Sport at the Canary Wharf Motor Expo in London this afternoon. It was my first time in a new F30, and while I don't like the somewhat afterthought looking Nav screen and a few cheap interior pieces, the car looks great, and the engine is a bit quieter than our M57. A worthy upgrade from our 335d when the time comes...if the time comes in the US. Someone already posted pics so here's the link. A bit less powerful but overall I think the M Sport looks fantastic!

Love the front but not too thrilled about the rear. Don't like the reflectors on the diffuser and would rather see split exhaust instead of the one sided type.

I agree. Driveline aside, I don't like the direction BMW is taking with the new 3. All these luxury, sport, modern (WTF?) lines. I prefer the old way where you aren't so limited to certain options because you chose a certain trim.
The interior also just looks cheap and choppy to me. I don't know why but every time I look at the passenger side of the dash all I think is "They did that waterfall effect to use less trim." Just seems like a lot of unnecessary lines for the sake of having lines. I really don't like how the hood looks like it's not attached to anything at the front because of the new kidney grills that are just too awesome to be contained and now have to bulge out of the sides either. |

Hotrod, even the suspension system is a step backwards. By desing its almost identical to the e90 but many of the materials used are inferior which I can presume was about cost savings. I posted up a suspension comparison on here somewhere w/lots of pictures. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed and it did not inspire me to run out and buy a new F30. .

The 330d uses the 6-cylinder N57 motor- unless you're referring to the 328i.

I wonder how much faster and more efficient a 335d would be even with just the 8 speed transmission. |
